Oh lol i thought you were making a joke about my name, then i remembered that there is a baal in the Diablo world. (Havent played the game in a while)

If you gotta play the game to make Baal the first thing that comes to your mind, you aren't a true fenatic. Shame on you.

At times I don't feel like Tyrael is corrupted, but with a corrupted Worldstone shattering, and he being so close, I can't help but feel that he'd be just covered from head to toe in corrupted shards. Who knows, maybe the power of the Worldstone affected him, but with the taint of the shards, he might just decide to fuck everyone. Hell, Heaven, AND Sanctuary.

Diablo, Mephisto, Baal.
Terror, Hatred, Destruction.

I shed a tear for you friend. You surely are among our fallen brethren.

:D I even know all the Unique Bosses, like Beetleburst, Dark Elder, Fangskin, Snapchip Shatter etc.

But there is one Unique Boss that I can't remember, he was removed from the game with the Lord of Destruction Expansion! He was one of those Spiked Fiends, and he was located right by the Inner Cloister Waypoint!

Sorry for the off topic!

I still don't believe Tyrael will turn bad in any way! Leonard Boyarski said in one of the panels at BlizzCon '08 something like this: "What happened to Tyrael? Where was he for the past 20 years? Has he been punished?"

This part with the punishment could be a hint at Tyrael's current whereabouts!

Let us pray.

*bows head*

A moment for our fallen comrade. For he has fallen, just as we have all speculated our ally Tyrael has. Let the light find them both, merely a split second before we release them from this realm by sword in hand. Amen.

*raises head*

Oh did I say that aloud? xD

Anyone have any new ideas on this Tyrael? I feel like there are alot of people who are just too intimidated to post their ideas, theories, hypothesis's. Contribute! Else some smart mod will come and shut this thing down....

I think we see too much of Baal in D2 .. due to obvious reasons :p But we need to see more of Tyraels awesomeness!

At first i thought baal looked cool, but when compared to how Diablo and Meph look hes sort of a letdown. Meh but then again he was merged with Tal-Rasha so we dont know what he really looks like.

I only read the first page of this thread and i didnt see anyone say anything about the possibility of the corrupted worldstone shards hitting, and corrupting tyrael. what i think could happen is that after he falls from heaven (im assuming thats what the comet was) then he flashes between good and evil and in the last act the evil :diablo: in him finally takes over and you have to smite him..... of course this is all guesswork so ya....:offtopic:

:spam:-if anyone wnts 2 add me in D2 username is armd223 main char is aroh....

Tyreal has been punished. And he IS the angel on the Diablo 3 site who's wings are turning to smoke wisps (the reason I give for this is: Bliz has to reveal the identity of the angel someday, and given the enormous mystery that's building about him, it can only be Tyreal). What if Tyreal is weakened and banished as a fiery comet, and then, in the darkness, amid the ruins of Tristram's catacombs, decides to turn evil?

We could be looking at an SUPER AWESOME Act 1 boss fight...

Corrupted Worldstone shards have been mentioned a couple of times in this thread! ;)

Blizzard (Bashiok) actually confirmed that Tyrael's wings are not turning into anything, it's just a new design for his wings!

See I think that Tyreal is good all along but is the 3 brothers somehow cast a spell on him which turns him evil and you must go defeat him to destroy the demon in side him. Then he comes back and thanks your blah blah blah but yea that seems cool because there hassed to be some good angles out there!

What justice does he follow then.

Well/ regarding tyrael turning evil i think it is a big possibility based on lore and stuff in D2. Blizzard obvioulsy know about all of this and may not make Tyrael evil because everyone has anticipated it. I also have to say something about Cain. In Hellfire the D1 expansions one of the books in the crypt talk about the soulstones. First of all they hadnt been made yet or you would be possessed,,but besides the point. It say that if the being encased were to break free it would go after someone weak such as a baby or an old man hmmm.... Cain seems pretty old and weak to me. Also note that Diablo most likely had no intention of possessing the hero in D1 because you were just defeated by him. Instead he took the advantage of the oppotunity and took you over as you attempted to encage his being inside you. Ok, back to Tyrael.

I for one believe Tyrael is evil but some people have not touched on many things. I do not think he was corrupted by shards of the worldstone but was in league with the 3 all along. Why did he destroy the worldstone? Well the worldstone protects the barrier between heaven, sanctuary, and hell. Now he supposedly destroyed it because Baal had corrupted it. If this is so then the worldstones power would dwindle slowly as the taint destroys the worldstone. INstead tyrael destroys it and instantly break the barrier. If Tyrael had told the heavans about the worldstone they could have had time to get ready for the war with Hell.

Cain has already stated that Tyrael has been working on his own agenda. He has most likely already been banished from heaven because they are not supposed to interfere with sanctuary which Tyrael has. So if he is int he meteor being thrown from heaven doesnt make any sense to me. If he is corrupted why would he go back to heaven..exactly.

Regarding him fighting Baal and Diablo vs. Tyrael in Tal Rasha's chamber he obviosly let them inprison him to make it look like he was good. perhaps the 3 were expecting some mortal to come and free tyrael, maybe not but he would play an important role in the master plan. Baal corrupts the worldstone and tyrael finshes it off so that it look like he had a legitimate reason to destroy it. With the worldstone destroyed the 3 can be reborn and enter Sanctuary with ease.

Now you wonder how they got in sanctuary in the first place... Well with the soulstones. Once the were imprisoned they could possess somone. It it was TYRAEL'S idea to make the soulstones. Perhaps he had this in mind all along. With this master scheme everything has come together perfectly and they will now take heaven on unsuspecting in an all out war.

That is my theory enjoy :)

While I have my slight suspicions that Tyrael may have unknowingly become corrupted by the shattered Worldstone, I think deep down in my heart I believe that our faithful guider is still good.

The Worldstone was corrupted by Baal, right? It was letting the demons in anyway, while blocking the Heavens. The Worldstone also repressed the potential powers of the Nephalem. By destroying the Worldstone, Tyrael was opening a door for the Nephalem to regain their powers and also allow any Heavenly beings to assist. He turned an incoming one-sided battle into two.

Verdict: Innocent.
