Imperious has always gone against the council. He that guy in their bunch, always the douche who has to have his way. I wouldn't be surprised if Diablo turns him against the nephalem and the angels.

in short cinematics we have seen in tv spots for diablo3 there was a moment with imperius fighting with tyrael .. dunno at which point of story in d3 this moment from this anim movies comes in but it looks like it might be good vs evil + imperius
at the end diablo said the trap was sprung which might lead to imperius beeing infected with evil or sth

It got very Dark Crystal near the end, when Diablo and Imperius were both wounded at the same spot. Could they be akin to Mystics and Skeksis?
