Will we be able to purchase characters at release?
If somebody has any up to date info on this or could ask over at the official forums I would greatly appreciate it.

It's going to be a pretty old post if not a quote from Blizzcon but they did say sometime AFTER release they'd like to look into selling/buying chars. I wouldn't worry too much about seeing it at launch because no one's going to have a char worth buying for a while.

The real question will be what intrinsic value will a level 60 (insert class here) be. since there are no soulbound items in D3 you can just deck your current toon out in the best gear off of the RMAH.  Personally unless it's cheaper to buy a char at level 60 with optimal gear instead of buying said gear off the RMAH why would anyone ever by a char?

Some may do it because they want a max level character to PvP with and skip the "lame" PvE part (funny since the game is mostly PvE but there are people who think this way for the mostly PvE WoW as well).
