So I was playing a little Diablo 2 yesturday and I thaught of this question : Which quest rewards from d2 should comeback ? Well there was a bunch of viable and fun rewards from quests in Diablo 2. Personally I would like to see the imbuing reward comeback. Why ? Because it would make exceptional high level white items worth something in the economy. What is your opinion guys ? This is also my first poll on the forum. :)

The imbuement thing would be nice and one would finally find a need for white items.

Power granting bonuses (Stat points, skill points, +life etc.) are only breaking the game. Quest rewards should be limited to +exp and magical or rare items.

But I certainly like inscribing the name of your character on a weapon. That's kinda neat.

I like the imbue reward for a chance at a rare / leg. from a white item. Also I'd vote for that quest that lets you put your name on one item.

How do they break the game if everyone has a "chance" at them? If anything, they should not be added because they are just boring rewards in my opinion.

I hope D3 has more in store in terms of quest rewards than just experience (and gold?).

This 'chance' actually forces people to make them, even if the quest is optional or every difficulty. It's just a bad design to award them through quests imo. Especially the Hellforge and Siege of Harrogath quests... I had a ton of level 1 character's made for the sole purpose of completing those quests, which felt more like a chore than anything.

Also, the best rewards we get are from killing monsters and completing achievements.

Well the two you mentioned weren't "Stat points, skill points, +life etc.". Those three are useless for level 1 characters anyway.

And why not reward players for completing hard quests?

I don't think having rewards that are not bound to the character (such as extra gems, imbues and runes) worked in D2 and they will work even less in D3. Feels like it encouraged leveling characters just to do those quests and move away rewards.

Don't think we will see other stuff then gold, experience, random items and achievements as quest rewards (maybe titles, but i suspect that will be reserved for finishing games on different modes including hardcore and maybe PvP Arena).

That said, i enjoyed the potion quest in Act3, you could hear some fun interaction when running around for it in town :)

It would definitely add a reason for people that didn't like respec in D3 to lvl new characters , but some people wouldn't like it either.

I like making alts for the leveling experience. Having to do it to milk rewards feels somewhat wrong however. One could argue that with the AH and hopefully a working currency such rewards would simply not be time effective to do though.

Nice idea for a thread OP. Though I just want to mention forgot add a socket quest in act 5 i believe his name was Larzuk. I voted for resistance, health, and the Multiple gems which was my favorite. Getting hellforge was a fair price for rushing someone and it was something you always looked forward to when getting a new character. I said no to imbue because it reminds me of crafting just without the materials (I am beta-less so i could be wrong there). Permanent resistance and health bonuses I always liked them beacsue if you haven't done them and you were feeling strong and hitting that level wall 85-92 those always felt good to do and beef up your character.

Thanks !
I didn't add Larzuk's socket quest because the jeweler can already add sockets on items , so I didn't put it in the choices. That said, maybe it could be a quest where the jeweler would let you add sockets for free.
