A level 45 item can add 165 stat points! A full set of level 21-50 gear adds almost 900 stat points to the character in this case. Quad-stat items exist (see shield). It looks like we're going to be seeing some high numbers on our character screens.

This doesn't suprise me but I like it, with the addtion of inferno and how difficulty scales (and how hard they said diablo 3 will be nightmare +) that items are recieving a small boost. Those are also rare items that are found probably mid-late nightmare, possibly even early hell so thier stats aren't that suprising.

Edit: For all those people who think this is similar to wow, you are indeed incorrect. The stat margins are extremely different and size not to mention they aren't even the same as wow.

I don't really like high numbers, because every increase seems insignificant.

If you have 3452 strength +/- 243 doesn't really feel like any reasonable change at all.
When you have 150 strength, then +/- of 20 is something you'd consider big.

And because of that reason, they are scaling down all numbers in WoW (which is a good idea, I think).

Since when did they say they were doing something they were "considering" for the expansion after MoP? I feel bad for Blizzard, people really take anything they say and sprint full home with it, and it ends up so far from the truth that you can't even remember where it started.

I can see what you see not. Vision milky, then eyes rot.

When you turn, they will be gone. Whispering their hidden song.

Then you see what cannot be. Shadows move where light should be.

Out of darkness, out of mind. Cast down into the Halls of the Blind

I feel the same way about gold. I was like "WTF?" on my playthrough of the beta when I had thousands of gold after only getting to the Skeleton King. Makes me wonder how the end game Gold AH will look..... lol :P

Nope, there was a blue post saying it was being considered (the item squish) quite some time ago; since all the details of MoP have been released and the beta started, they confirmed they will NOT be scaling down numbers.

Keep in mind that it's all relative (7% vs. 7.5%).  Each of those comparisons works out to be roughly the same.  If you do quick math in your head, you'll realize they're both equally as "big".

Always fun when somebody makes a statement that's just 100% false. Blizzard actually confirmed quite a while ago that they will NOT be doing an "item squish" for MoP.

Wha..?  243/3452 = 7%.  20/150 = 13.33%.  Of course 20/150 feels like a bigger deal -- because it is.  10/150 is a much closer ratio to 243/3452,
...and if you disagree with me, you're probably <insert random ad hominem attack here>.

Versions of MMOs that didn't require huge numbers to interest people because the gameplay was actually exciting on it's own?
