From not long ago on twitter in regards to Jay previously telling us "You will know the date when I do"

https://twitter.com/...740568849629185

@Angryrobotics How can you be "counting down the days" until release announce if you claim "[we]’ll know as soon as [you] know"? J'accuse!

Jay Wilson@Angryrobotics

@vinhugh you'll know as soon as I'm allowed to say. And no, I'm not allowed to say when that is.

On the plus side, they actually have a date set!

I doubt they have a date set. Just a target date. Thats why they won't tell us, it could still easily change.

Until it comes out? I has to come out eventually, so if we keep buying into "soon" we will eventually be right. If you keep disbelieving it, you will eventually be wrong.

Who's the silly one now Mr. Negative Nancy?

Except the negative nancy is right 100 times and only wrong once.  I wasn't always a pessimist, blizzards lies transformed me into one!

Don't fall for the troll wingless

Besides I never said anything about "soon" so ..... Kinda should be obvious there's trolling going on.

They have a hard date set, you don't start droping core features without such a thing set (and this tweet proves that) but its something we already knew from clues...

Everyone lies.  So how is it that only the lies from Blizzard made you a pessimist?

You can use lots of words, singularly, or in conjunction to mean one thing.  Like soon for example.  Welcome to the English language.

That is just another assumption to give an iota of plausibility to "soon".

I thought we had a whole thread dedicated to this ridiculous topic of guessing the beta date.

Also I am not a troll.  I give way more informative replies than 99% of the other posters.
Ohh Isnt it against the rules to call people a troll?

I like how before, Blizzard was all like, "When it's done."

Now Blizzard is like, "When it's almost done."

So we'll get the game when it's almost done. LOL Blizzard....

Surely they are waiting for something big to announce the release date at. I am sure they have made some special preparation for the announce, and want the maximum number of people to see it? I think the best way to achieve that, is to have a countdown to the date announce on their website.

Also, how hard must it be for the people in the know to keep their mouths shut. I do not envy them knowing.

Sup ya'll...

I been following this site for a cr@p load of a long time..
Yeah I’m addicted to Diablo.. well I was at least 10yrs ago, nowadays though my times more bf3 and life.

But, I’ll be honest (take this for what you will) but blizzard have really handled this pretty bad.

They've lost a lot of respect, not just in the people I talk to's mind, but by the looks of things online as well.

No one trusts your word any more.. It’s obvious you've deliberately fed people crap just to keep them following like rabid dogs, it’s pretty poor form for such a global company.

Don’t you have media reps or something that monitor what you say to the public?

You can’t say quotes like

Soonish
9/10ths of the way
when I know you'll know
Coming months

and then just lead them on for an endless amount of time...

I will buy a copy of the game, I’ll play it and judge it on its worth but I’ll never hold Blizzard in the high esteem I used too..

Personally, you should give the fans a date, something solid at least to stop the crap going on.
Then stick to your date, what do parents call it? Reputation? following your promises? doing what you say you'll do?..

Regards,
Jon.

Well they have said they would not wait for a special day to announce it. The possibility of course is still that they will make A day out of it, but what I got from their line is that they won't be waiting for say E3, or pretend blizzcon, ect ect.

As far as people knowing, I honestly think the dev team, maybe just Jay and up, know of a hard date that they set as far back as last October. This correlates with them dropping features until after release, since they did the math and know that to hit their hard internal date they couldn't do it in time.

Amazing how antagonistic people can be towards blizzard. Do you not think they're human or something, since you attribute such malice as intentionally 'just leading people on' with 'apparently' empty words to them? Turning out to be wrong about a projected date is not the same as lying about a projected date.

No doubt they are human mate, which is why I never said '' i cant understand why your doing this ''

What they are doing proves they are human. Only a human would say provocative things to lead the masses on when its obvious they actually dont believe in what they are saying.

Blizzard would have retained respect if they had of said in January
'' The game has been delayed, we expect maybe a June / July release if we are lucky ''

Instead of open ended quotes to mislead people.

I dont follow every statement or thread, but from what I read its common to see people refer to things like

'' Soonish ''
'' 9/10ths ''
'' Coming months ''

But in reality its just repeated every few months. For such a large, global corporation, one which boasts so many titles/fans and capital behind it you'd really think there's a legitimate media department somewhere filtering whats said to the public.

It seems the managers and reps are either completely let out to freely say anything or they are out of the loop.

After all this time, all the constant delays, all the diatribe of '' soonish '' and '' coming months '' you'd think they'd just wise up and say something honest, even if its not what the fans want to here, atleast its something specific and certain.

as for wrong about a projected date, can you show me where they have given a 'projected DATE?' to be wrong about?

Edit to add, I remember following the clues years ago when the blizzard homepage would change an image.. and everyone guessed and guessed over what it would be.. everyone jumped for joy when Diablo III was shown to be now a working project.

But that was a bloody long time ago, it was a lot of excuses ago.. and we are all still no clearer about when we can expect anything.

Its poor form, no matter how much I 'loved' Diablo 1 and 2 and probably 3.

My thoughts exactly. I think it comes down to people think of a blue concrete wall with the words Blizzard on them when we mention Blizzard or employees.

It makes zero sense that they would intentionally lie about ANYTHING intentionally, because it would just turn around and bite them in the ass.

Blizzard knows how much we want the game, and by all accounts are trying very hard to get it out. Being mad at how long it's taking is one thing, but trying to call them out on something that's provably untrue (by logic) just doesn't make any sense.
