Buddy sent a screencap of chat to me...why do they deserve a beta key?

This particular chat began as a result of a game server crash. Everyone was kicked out of their games and went into chat until the came back up.

I can see the conversation degenerated after the game servers came back up and I left.

They were also playing with the "Mature Language" filter, as some of them had just figured out where the option was to turn it off.

As I read this, Professor Farnsworth from Futurama comes to mind.

"I don't want to live on this planet anymore!"
"We have a hockey stick in one hand, a beer in the other, we all wear toques and live in igloos. Right, world?"

I just think to myself, these people are presumably sending in bug reports/posting on forums about the game. It's like asking a 15 year old to analyze a CT scan.

These people were kicked out of the game they were supposed to be sending bug reports about.

Uhm... I don't think age has anything to do with one's ability of reading a CT scan.... Just saying.

I wouldn't imagine a 15 year old would have graduated a radiology/med school program...this is my point.

Every game ever made will have a fraction of the community with attitudes like this you cannot escape it.

There are plenty of use playing the game to death and finding bugs and problems and generally doing what we are meant to do without ever worry about things like this.

Its also worth noting that I've NEVER experienced this behaviour in an actual game, chat channels will always bring out the worst.

These are a portion of the community which will end up playing the game. Makes sense to have them testing it. Who else will find the potential naked male barb exploit that blizz needs to fix before ship?

To really want to enjoy both an online game and its community you need to have a sense of humour, even if a conversation like this arises. If you don't like something like this then you don't have to read it.

Also just because of what people talk about when servers are down doesn't mean they don't deserve a beta. Just relax the game will be out soon.

Dude, the beta keys are RANDOM. You really think Blizzard is going to background all of the 215k beta keys + given out so far? I'd be as mad as you if i didn't have beta, I understand. But this is something that's a waste of time to get mad about. Not to mention multiply this by a million come release lmao.

In other words you are one of these immature kids.

Welcome to the internet, where no one cares if you use naughty words. The beta isn't about bug reporting anyway. The rare bugs we do catch in the beta would eventually get almost certainly get picked up by QA regardless. Our job is compatability testing, and that requires virtually no feedback other than what the application sends on its own.

Also, no offense to our QA pals, but writing bug reports isn't exactly difficult. Time-consuming, mind-crushing, and absolutely essential to software development, sure. But not difficult.

Anyone who disagrees with you is the enemy, right? This attitude is the reason why almost everything that sucks, sucks. Bravo.

No, I'm not. I just don't understand why people need to be so uptight and take absolutely everything offensive. Whats wrong with just taking a conversation like this as a joke? Is it that hard? They were passing the time, bored, whatever you'd call it. Maybe they were being immature. It doesn't mean you go ahead and post about it saying they don't deserve a beta

I tend to agree with OP, but you never can escape from such people.
How do the M 17+ rating is enforced during beta or any beta keys giveaways?
