Diablo III PvP Update - PvP Arena System Postponed
It looks like we will not be seeing the PvP Arena system at release. However this will be patched in after release. Oddly enough this seems to be tagged with Sign of Release :)

As we’re counting down the days until we’re ready to announce a release date for Diablo III, we’ve come to realize that the PvP game and systems aren’t yet living up to our standards. Today, we wanted to let you know that we’ve made the difficult decision to hold back the PvP Arena system and release it in a patch following the game’s launch. After a lot of consideration and discussion, we ultimately felt that delaying the whole game purely for PvP would just be punishing to everyone who’s waiting to enjoy the campaign and core solo/co-op content, all of which is just about complete.

While we work on making sure PvP lives up to its full potential, we hope you’ll find some consolation in the fact that soon, you’ll be having a blast leveling characters, finding items, learning the classes, and perfecting builds…and that when the Arenas do arrive, you’ll be all the better prepared for battle.

When the PvP patch is ultimately ready, it will add multiple Arena maps with themed locations and layouts, PvP-centric achievements, and a matchmaking system that will help you and your team get into fairly matched games quickly and easily. We’ll also be adding a personal progression system that will reward you for successfully bashing in the other team’s skulls.

We know a lot of you are looking forward to PvP, and we’ll be focusing our post-launch efforts on making sure the Arenas are as brutal, bloody, fast-paced, and awesome as we know they can be. In the meantime, we’re in the process of putting the finishing touches on what we think is a truly epic campaign and co-op experience for launch.

We’ll have a lot more info to share on the PvP system in the future, and we look forward to the moment we can get the game into your hands.

Too bad, but it wont matter much since most will PvE anyway when its released for a few weeks.

What what!

Bad news about the PvP initially, but atleast this gives everyone time to play the game a bit, learn the classes etc - so in the end will work out fine.

Not terribly worried - the PvE content is what everybody is going to be doing for the first few months anyway. Diablo is a lot about items, so you're going to need good items regardless of PvP or PvE ("PvM" actually).

I read it and I am happy.  I know that this is a sign of release as they used the word "days" instead of "weeks".  But while I am a bit sad that PvP wont make it into release, I am at least glad that they want the campaign done and out before the PvP

So we start the retail without PvP. I don't care.. at least it won't hold the release date back.. There are still chances for a release date in this monday or something :D /pray

This is good for me, not sure about some others. I don't plan to PvP anyways until my characters are level 60. So...

Yeah, not bothered by this, and it will be a treat after the game launches!

As long as the game gets into our hands faster i'm all for it.  :d3d:
In this world...
Is the destiny of mankind controlled by some transcendental entity or law?
Is it like the hand of god hovering above?
At least, it is true...
That man has no control, even over his own will.

Mad or happy? Most people will play the pve part first anyways.  What are you gonna go in with a level 1? come on, think about it.

So true, by the time we get to our higher level's pvp should (hopefully) be ready!

Well, I won't  be pvping till level 60 anyways, and with good gear. SO that won't be for a couple months for me.
