Anyways, you guys have already heard/read about the Korea RMA situation (the second half of my post, don't know if there's an official post). Basically just says that Blizz is still trying to sort the RMA out in Korea.
So with that in the back of your head, here's another piece that we missed that was posted on a Korean Diablo 3 website (was posted the same day as the above mentioned post [Des 5])(Note: it has been translated (not so good) so I'll try my best to give the correct important pieces. And if there's Korean people, please give the correct translation):
Blizzard Korea in the past two days geimmul Rating Board 'Diablo 3', South Korea has applied for consideration for private testing.
Geimmul Rating Board (hereinafter geimwi) confirmed the results as of December 02 last request is completed, confirmed that Diablo 3 was deliberate. Working yijongbae geimwi officer "generally takes two weeks in deliberation, but the subject matter that greater resistance could take a little bit more," he said.
BlizzCon 2011 held in the U.S. last October, Blizzard's Rob from Brighton Den Becker, vice president of online technologies in Korea conducted a test that private balhyeot Diablo 3, but not specifically listed in the schedule have been made, unfortunately gamers. In recent years, the Diablo 3 Blizzard Korea proceed with the formal service begins recruiting a project manager with a private testing has been observed to be imminent.
Blizzard Korea as of December 02 the hearing to apply for Diablo 3 as the result of deliberate and specific about private testing schedule is expected to reveal the outline.
When the results based on the deliberations. Why dalrajiget during January, but Diablo 3 is expected to be held by the domestic private testing. Blizzard Korea said that "with the same version as Global filed for consideration," he revealed cash auctions also suggested that with the version included with the application hearing.
Meanwhile, hearing rumors that Diablo 3 was silent as a real progress in hearing how the results emerge has been the players' attention. Diablo 3 in the UK so far, more than 15 years in Australia, more than 17 years in the United States has received a grade.
These are my interpretation (please provide yours if you think mine's wrong [it's late here and I'm tired, so it might not be 100% correct])
- Geimmul Rating Board (GRB) has applied for a private beta testing consideration to Blizz.
- GBR confirms the Des 2 post's request is completed and they are moving on to the deliberating stage.
- The "Officer" says it takes about two weeks of deliberation, but with D3 it will take longer.
- This "private consideration" wasn't originally on the Blizzcon schedule, but Brighton Den Becker, vice president of online technologies in Korea conducted a private test at Blizzcon. The recruitment of a Project Managers for this "private consideration" is imminent.
- The results of the deliberation will be revealed sometime in January. Blizzard Korea said that they want to use the Global version of beta including the Gold AH in their "consideration".
- The rumours of D3 being "delayed" because of this situation has been the players main focus. Bla bla bla age restriction.
So what do you guys think? It's really hard to translate that last paragraph about D3 being delayed cause of this situation. So please post your interpretation of that part especially.
It's also kinda logical that D3 is being delayed cause of this. The deliberation takes more than 2 weeks, hence the outcome will be released somewhere in early January...maybe.
And why hasn't Blizz posted this on the English forums? Maybe cause it's not really official, but I think it's cause people will shit their pants and say screw the Koreans, let them just have the Gold AH and just release the damn game!
So do you guys think they'll still announce the date at the VGA's? I think so, but I won't get my hopes up. Or will they after the "consideration" has been approved? If this is the case, a release date announcement in January means a March/April release...
UPDATE 1:
This update has been posted somewhere on this forums earlier today, but I just thought I'll post it here in the appropriate thread.
There has been a thread on the Italian Battle.net forums about Blizzard losing fans due to the constant "delays". Further on with the thread one guy asked (just pasted it in google translate):
The point is, we are sure that it is a matter of marketing?
If so, and given the negative response from the general public do not believe they would have given a release date?
A blue post (Zhydaris) responded:
Official Blizzard Quote:
Although your theory actually way, I can tell you that immediately after the postponement of the game was decided not to speak of the date of issue until we have an exact date and safe to 99.99%.
When announcing the release date, you can be confident that it will not be postponed *.
* = Subject to natural disasters, emergencies, unforeseen incidents, problems and so unpredictable.
So basically, the first guy asked whether this constant "delaying" is just a marketing scheme by Blizz and if it is, (with all the negative responses from the public), why haven't Blizz given us an release date yet.
Zhydaris responded by saying that after the push back (aimed late 2011 to early 2012), Blizz decided to not give another estimated release date if they weren't 99.99% sure of that release date. When they finally do announce the release date, we can be 100% confident that Diablo 3 wouldn't get pushed back again unless there are some sort of natural disasters, unpredictable events ect.
So what this basically tells us that Blizz has no idea when they intend to release the game (only "early 2012" and now [from VGA's by Mike] "in 2012"). Initially they thought they might get it release in late 2011, but something unexpected obviously happened for them to delay into 2012 (this time around we thought the 2 biggies might be the rune-system and RMAH in general. Now it's the RMAH in Korea specifically...most likely).
Blizz have overplayed the hype card (they may not have officially given us one, but all the possible reasons for delay is all over the internet) a few times now and finally realized that after hinting/giving us hope with a possible release date, that the fans are getting tired of getting hyped and then get shot down, finally decided to wait till they are 100% certain.
This have two sides:
1 - we might have to wait a long time for a release date, BUT
2 - the release date we'll be getting will most likely be 100% for certain.
Since the Korean deliberations will most likely end in early January, I think Blizz will definitely give a release date only after this situation has been resolved (sometime in early January), cause this is the biggest and only hurdle Blizz have to get over to give us a 100% accurate release date confirmation.
UPDATE 2:
It's not specifically about the RMAH but is about what Blizz is doin during the delay. Also from the Italian Battle.net forums.
Again Zhydaris replies to a guy worried about D3 being "delayed" from 2011-early 2012-end of 2012:
Official Blizzard Quote:
There has been no change of plan, we aim to even the "Early 2012", I have not seen anything that would suggest further changes to this forecast.
The developers are using this time to finish the game, and some of these changes are being applied also to the Beta.
Another:
Official Blizzard Quote:
Again, I just asked for confirmation if I had inexplicably lost updates on it (hey, it can happen, better to be safe!) And I have confirmed that "early 2012" is still our goal and that there is no update on.
Not as I know because a distributor has decided to send this email, I can only confirm that we currently have no reason to think that this date should be postponed further.
The biggy:
Official Blizzard Quote:
I wanted to give further explanation of an aspect which I think is being interpreted the wrong way.
I've read that Blizzard has grossly wrong predictions and this is demonstrated by the fact that some changes or features were added only after the announcement of the postponement of the game in 2012.
I wanted to clarify that in fact these elements are certainly connected, but the deduction is incorrect.
Before the release of a game there are several very important dates.
One of them is without a shadow of doubt when the game goes Gold, or when the version is being prepared which will then be produced in millions of copies.
Even before arriving at the Gold, there is another very important date, what we call "Content Lock". To simplify, is the day that they are finalizing the list of features that are present in the game and that will be completed before the Gold.
Having moved the release date, our development team has been available to the additional time they are using is to finish the game, but also to add items that were not able to be included with the old date of issue (or better with the old forecast).
This includes details such as the 3D model of a particular monster, the graphics of some legendary item, or even the balance of skills, runes and classes in general.
Having more time means having more content. Am I saying we were going to release an incomplete game and no content? No, absolutely, let me explain why.
Unfortunately, there comes a moment when we must draw a sharp line and decide that the game should be released and that some features or changes are not necessary. Why? Why Diablo III is not just a game, is the "mama's boy" of all those involved in its development, and if it were possible we would work forever just to make it perfect in their eyes.
Realistically, however, perfection does not exist, and what we can do is get close to perfection as possible before releasing a game. "Commit to quality," says one of our corporate values. And frankly I think you will be satisfied by the final product.
Nothing to add, it's self explanatory.
Another guy reintroduce the old RMAH situation (in my OP) and Zhydaris respond:
Official Blizzard Quote:
Although a global launch of the game is always our preference, I would like to point out that there was not always possible to release the game simultaneously across the world and that circumvent this has not stopped the release of the game.
Just think of what happened in China with the expansion of WoW, for example.
Each region has always unique challenges, especially when it comes to business models (Brazil and Russia for StarCraft II) or legal issues (China and South Korea).
Looking back from Blizzard and its release, these issues have directly impacted the date of issue in other regions.
So this might mean that the rest of the world will be playing Diablo 3 while Korea's problem is still being attended to. But I doubt it. I think Blizz will want to globally release the game simultaneously. For the world records of course!!
And why hasn't Blizz posted this on the English forums? Maybe cause it's not really official, but I think it's cause people will shit their pants and say screw the Koreans, let them just have the Gold AH and just release the damn game!
that is exactly why, ALas it will happen anyways (if it hasn't started already)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Blizzard used to care about releasing Diablo III, then they all took an arrow in the knee...
Push what back there never has been a release date. I'm sure many knew RMAH would delay the game in the first place, multiple countries + money + monetary state polices = Time delay.

There was never a set date, but the initial statement from Blizzard was "late 2011" and then they pushed it back to early 2012.
It was a hope and a time-frame for their investors, nothing official. I was basically trying to say nothing has been officially announced in an ass like manner so there is nothing to push back.

I was hoping you'll understand, I probably should've stated it more clearly. I know there hasn't been a official release date, but if Blizz intended to release the game in January (sometime after the pushback into 2012 announcement), the game will now be released in March. If they intended to release the game in February, the game will now be released in April ect (because of the Korea RMAH situation).
Of course we will never know this, it's why they said "early" 2012 and not "Feb/March" or even "Q1". So they can release the game any time between Jan and June (if you consider this to be "early") and not get attacked by fans for saying Feb/March or Q1 when they finally release the game in (touch wood) May/June.
I'm sure many knew RMAH would delay the game in the first place, multiple countries + money + monetary state polices = Time delay.
Well, according to what I currently know (I might be wrong, if I'm wrong please correct me), thus far, it is only Korea who's RMAH situation hasn't been approved yet, so saying that the RMAH [in general] would delay the game "in the first place" (2011-2012) is correct. But I'm talking about being delayed for the "second time".
The initial delay (2011 to 2012) was probably partly the RMAH's [in general] fault (the rune-system the other). But the second delay may be just Korea's RMAH's fault.
About 99.9999% sure this is not the case.... They do not need to release the game at the same time in every country.
I guess I'm the 1% or in this case the 0.0001%. I'm pretty sure Blizz would release the game at the same time globally...almost all their previous games have been globally released at the same time (some only 1 or 2 days apart) except the original WoW but I don't care about Wow.
They won't let some continents play the game while others must wait. It's Blizz for goodness sake! They want the whole world buying and playing D3 at the same time to break gaming records!
And they don't want Korean players raging about not being able to play the game at the same time as the rest of the world, since Korea makes up a big part of the Blizz community (especially Starcraft, dunno how popular D2 was in Korea though but nevertheless Korea is still plays a big part), Blizz wants the release to be as big as possible.
Also the fact that they said "early" 2012 (I consider "early 2012", especially in Blizzard terms, to be anything up to June). Why release the game in Feb/March globally but April/May in Korea? That doesn't make sense. They would rather release globally in April/May...that way no-one can rage about anything.
This is how I feel, even though all this is just speculation.

I left that out on purpose, cause I thought my last paragraph explains why Korea would be the only country to rage if they didn't release simultaneously. The rest of the world would either play the game beforehand or at the same time as Korea. Blizz isn't going to announce to the rest of the world that the Korea RMAH is the cause of the "so called second delay", that's why this was just posted in the Korean Forums and nowhere else...
You dont care about wow.... thats... kinda a big title to throw out of the calculations.
I also have to agree that I dont see them holding back the game from one region's issue with the RMAH.
time will tell of course.
Haha yeah that was quite big, but my "but I don't care about Wow" can be translated to: That game is really old and I just Wikipedia-ed it and saw that it was released in 2004, 2005 and 2011...but that's just obsolete to my post, since Blizz won't release D3 in 2012 in the US/EU and finally in 2019 in another continent...but I see now the 2011 release was just a Portuguese version of Wow.
About 99.9999% sure this is not the case.... They do not need to release the game at the same time in every country.

Maybe you are right, but saying Blizz isn't going to announce it's quite strange tbh, cause rest of the world learned that the same day as koreans.. ^^
Haha true, but it wasn't officially announced to the rest of the world, therefore (in Blizz terms) NOT TRUE!!
That schmuck has zero credibility. He is still pushing the fake Blizzcon notes as truth and believe D3 was supposed to be originally released on Nov 24 (per the Blizzcon notes). Yes, on Thanksgiving.
Diablo III Release Readiness Update
Author: Blizzard Entertainment 05 December 2011 08:02 UTC 2
Hello Diablo III community,
Thanks for your enthusiasm and encouragement about Diablo III that was announced at this past Blizzcon, and thanks for your high quality feedback about the game. I want to take this opportunity to give you an update on the Diablo III release. The main issues we're having right now are in regards to Korea's potential real money auction house and associated ratings for the game.
We have recently announced plans to increase the number of Korean players in the Diablo III beta. A specific schedule has not been set yet as we are having a difficult time, but we will update you all as soon as possible once a date is committed. In addition, over the past beta builds of the Korean version of the game, we have received a lot of good feedback. These comments are gathered by the Diablo III team and they will be used to make sure this is an excellent game and meets all of our player's expectations, and we will have more information on the community site with more beta news forthcoming. In addition, you can apply for participation in the beta test on this page.
Diablo III - Korea Ratings Under Consideration
As we approach it's release, players can review the ratings to see if it is within their age group and if the game is suitable for them. We recently contacted the Korea Ratings Board to receive a Diablo III classification. We are aiming for a Mature Adult 18+ rating. The ratings for consideration were based on the latest version of the game and they have been provided a full version with all elements of the game included. We will provide more information and progress of their deliberations sometime at a later date.
The Auction House
As many of you know, Diablo III is introducing a powerful new auction system. Items are collected in the Diablo series, and characters grow through item buying which is an essential element of the game. However, there have been many issues and fraud related to buying items in the past. There are many risks of exposure using third-party merchant sites, and using them is a fairly complex process. But through our new auction house, money and in-game items is safe, fun, and can easily be bought and sold. For more information about the auction house, the information page can be found at: *doesn't matter*
There have been many questions about the currency auction house. An auction system like this is in some ways an unprecedented new effort, and there are different regulations and laws in other regions, which we are working on. After an internal investigation, we concluded that the auction house system is legitimate in Korea. However, we respect and are taking the classification system for each region very seriously. Blizzard has been working closely with the national regulation groups, and we are cooperating fully with the Korea rating committee. We are getting closer to release more information, and we will let you know the status soon.
For now, we want to make sure the community knows what's going on and so that you're not left wondering what's going on. Please continue to leave your comments and questions on the official forums, and we look forward to reading your comments.

I assure you I wasn't trolling or spamming. The idea that the Korea RMAH is effecting the release date for the rest of the world is ridiculous. I know bliz likes to do the whole world release date thing, but it's absurd that they would hold back because of something like this. Let Korea watch as the rest of the world has fun!
This update has been posted somewhere on this forums earlier today, but I just thought I'll post it here in the appropriate thread.
There has been thread on the Italian Battle.net forums about Blizzard losing fans due to the constant "delays". Further on with the thread one guy asked (just pasted it in google translate):
The point is, we are sure that it is a matter of marketing?
If so, and given the negative response from the general public do not believe they would have given a release date?
A blue post (Zhydaris) responded:

UPDATE 2:
So I think some of you might have already read the following earlier today on Deity's blog, but I just thought I'll share it here for those who didn't. It's not specifically about the RMAH but is about what Blizz is doin during the delay.
Again Zhydaris replies to a guy worried about D3 being "delayed" from 2011-early 2012-end of 2012:

So with that in the back of your head, here's another piece that we missed that was posted on a Korean Diablo 3 website (was posted the same day as the above mentioned post [Des 5])(Note: it has been translated (not so good) so I'll try my best to give the correct important pieces. And if there's Korean people, please give the correct translation):
UPDATE 2:
For the world records of course!!
that is exactly why, ALas it will happen anyways (if it hasn't started already)
There was never a set date, but the initial statement from Blizzard was "late 2011" and then they pushed it back to early 2012.
"Just google "diablo 3 gold guide" and magical rainbow covered demons will assault your eyes."

Best wishes, Blizzard Korea.

(Will update the OP as well)

So I think some of you might have already read the following earlier today on Deity's blog, but I just thought I'll share it here for those who didn't. It's not specifically about the RMAH but is about what Blizz is doin during the delay.
Again Zhydaris replies to a guy worried about D3 being "delayed" from 2011-early 2012-end of 2012:

If you want to arrange it
This world you can change it
If we could somehow make this
Christmas thing last
By helping a neighbor
Or even a stranger
And to know who needs help
You need only just ask
Would you be fine if your region didn't get to play for five months (just an example) but everyone else did, I bet your tune would change.
