I like the idea, some of the hard work can get passed onto another HC toon.
I have never played HC, but with this it is looking attractive.

It's not the dead character's shared stash, it's your account's shared stash. Whatever you put in the stash is no longer that character's stuff, so you're not inheriting anything.

Also, the fact that they incorporated this feature due (mostly) to fans' requests really goes to show some people around here that complaining about something might get you somewhere, and that the appropriate response is not "STFU, STOP QQ!".

I think this idea is cool so that people would be able to reminisce on what they have accomplished with these dead heroes they valiantly fought Diablo & his minions with. lols!

Although, I would add that Blizzard should put a limit on when these dead heroes would be put up on the Hall of the Dead:
• First of, they should have already reached level 30 or
• they have finished Normal difficulty level, whichever comes first.

If they haven't accomplished these before they died, then there's really nothing that heroic for them to be remembered upon, so they shouldn't be put in the Hall of the Dead, or else, they would be just a worthless clutter taking up space, and I assume there would be a lot of these worthless low level clutter from noobs who'll be playing the game...

In short, the Hall of the Dead, should only be for heroes who have endured the test of time and died heroically, adorned with all their battle gear glory.
Of course, it goes to say that whatever items they have left in the shared HC stash is still usable and wont be lost. Like what the Blue Post said, the HC stash is separate from the SC character's stash, so even if it is an account shared stash, the items are only shared between the HC characters (people who are slow should be able to understand this and stop complaining).

Good news that they are going to add this feature. And for the shared stash items not disappearing, yes it makes sense and I was quite sure that would be how it worked. I mean, as said by someone, it's not your character's stash any more. It's shared. It's kinda the same as if you'd put some items on another HC character in D2.. except more convenient :).

Great stuff overall.

QQing wont get you anywhere. Person who came up with this graveyard thing on blizz forums presented valid point, many people found it worthy. So blizzard made it happen.

Making threads like "OMG BARBARIAN UNBALACNED BUFF HIM OMG" wont get you anywhere

I'm 100% HC,

But if i were to compromise on something to bring more softies to the real thing it'd be something like that:
Your HC dies for ever
However, you have the ability to loot the corpse only once:

If you loot it between 0-4 months: 20% chance of obtaining one item
4-5: 1 or 2 items
And so on until you have a nice proba to recover almost all items after 1 year.

Meaning that either you wait 1 year to get the max number if items or you decide you're in a hurry and sacrifice most items.

Dear HC fellows, please don't throw HC stones at me :)

I think this is a brilliant addition to the GAME! Almost makes me want to start off the game playing hardcore.

Thanks,
I appreciate that you refrained yourself ;)

Coming back to my proposition, the length of punishment could be higher. But I would consider it a fun wait knowing that at the end I get back some/most cherished items.

I Know I'll play 5-8 years so I'll be sure to want to wait for this event... Something to look forward to in a way

And the presentation could be fun too : you see the mausoleum / cemetery of your toons and have the option to loot them of their stuff...

Cheers,

N

I actually like they idea that you can loot over time. We could even bring it a step further.
They could add a special event in the game where you randomly encounter a corpse of a fallen warrior. That fallen warrior can be a random dead HC char and you can loot one random item from what he was wearing during is travels.

On his history page you then can see who you made happy with your gear. Not sure it's really doable but it might add some flavor to the game, and let you remember that living in the Diablo Universe is a hard life

The solution is simple! Don't let your character die until Hall of the Dead is implemented.

(Source/source) Wondering what will become of your carefully-crafted DiabloWiki.com - hardcorehardcore characters in Diablo III after they pass on? Vaneras responded to some fan inquiry today regarding the afterlife of hardcore characters; to be sure, it's an improvement from Diablo II.

In the old days, dead hardcore characters consumed valuable slots in online accounts, forcing players to make yet more accounts for fear of losing trophies of their accomplishments. Although the previous solution was unlimited, since accounts could be created ad nauseum, Diablo III accounts are singular and capped.

To account for the lack of space, as well as cater to the desire to preserve ghostly trophies, Diablo III is taking a much more convenient angle on hardcore deaths, allowing not only for perusal of butchered hardcore characters, but also access to interesting statistics about their journeys:

Official Blizzard Quote:

We have plans to create a Hall of the Dead where your can view your deceased HC characters, and you will probably also be able to view fun and interesting statistics about them.

Dead HC characters will not remain in your main character list, though.

But probably on the softer side, Vaneras also mentioned that all is not lost when hardcore characters inevitably kick the bucket. While "items in the possession of any HC character at the time of death will be lost," he wrote, any items kept in the hardcore shared stash will remain perfectly usable for current or future hardcore characters.

Do you think that the Hall of the Dead is a logical next step in catering to hardcore players' needs? Should hardcore items in hardcore shared stashes remain intact, even after the original character is defeated? Does this make hardcore mode easier, minimizing hardcore losses, or only more convenient?

Sorry to Necro, but has anyone heard anything more on this?
