The main problem in Titan Quest (for me) was how the story was told and the dialogue wasn't captivating.
My main problem with TQ was the
setting. I guess it was too close to "real world", with historical characters, locations and so on. Perhaps I just prefer pure fantasy.

The question is, which game is gonna come out first?
Personally, I don't believe that Grim Dawn will be released before Diablo III. Not before Q2 2012.
About the classes. Here's a quote from the FAQ:
"We plan to release with 5 skill classes, each containing several skill trees. Additional skill classes will be introduced through downloadable add-ons. Players will be able to combine any two skill classes to explore powerful synergies that exist between the skill trees of different classes and experience the varying gameplay styles of each class build. It will be impossible to max out all the skills from two classes, so there will be plenty of experimentation to find the best way to allocate your points. Don't worry though, if you aren't satisfied with your build, you will be able to spend money to reclaim spent skill points."
Of course all is subject to change.
EDIT. Sorry. I just realized that the quote above doesn't tell much of the
character classes, only about skill classes. I took a quick look at the forum discussions, but it appears that the devs haven't had much to tell about the possible character classes yet, only a brief mention about skills for the "soldier class"...
