After the success of Force's Purgatory Video, I mentioned that DiabloFans would be teaming up with Force for some collaboration work. As you may have noticed, he's been posting a bit more around out community as well. We would like to introduce you guys to DiabloCast, a podcast that will cover the news within the last week or so and some background/opinions on what's currently going on. Here's the topics for the first episode:

Omg...This is so awesome. I love you both. Hi Force! I'm your new groupie. lol.

I disagree Sixen, the drop mechanics don't seem like a a pain at all. That's hardly an issue. It would take 2 seconds.

I think the fact of the matter is that it'll take 2 seconds. That's 2 seconds I could be smashing baddies, :P.

This might be the coolest thing ever to hit Dfans (other than me of course). Sixen and Force, you guys rock. And I've only listened to the intro. I have early class tomorrow but I'm gonna give this a listen through anyway ;)

I see what you mean but it seems to really be the best solution to the D2 system.

Yea, what Sixen pointed out is definitely a flaw in the drop system, but its a minor flaw compared to getting all the loot taken by one person.

Also, I think PvP should forever be PvPiss.

I disagree about Mf not being as prevalent. I believe that it was said there is a bigger risk using Mf over stat/damage gear...as in you'll be easier to kill and you'll have less killing power. Not many skills taunt an enemy into attacking (only one that I recall offhand). With the new AI targeting the weaker player, having one person gathering Mf means they will be a demon/undead magnet.

I don't think thats neccessarily true. How it was most recently described is that it will be a choice between MF and things like extra gold or xp, which means that you won't be a weaker character because of your choice of MF.

Nice work; don't have time to listen to the full cast so I'll have to finish it another time. Which is why I'm commenting, actually; maybe you guys could condense it a little more? ~25 minutes is quite a bit. Or separate it into two parts? Something like that.

Additionally, what track is that at the beginning? I don't remember the Sisters' Theme or Wilderness being that sharp and chilling! Is it a remastered version or perhaps just a higher quality one? Could someone enlighten me?

Great cast guys. An opinion for improvement, perhaps add some video next time? Even if the gameplay is not new, it beats staring at the same screen for 20+ mins. Maybe add in pvp videos, when you're talking about pvp or something :)

I mean, I suppose this is something we could do. Most podcasts are much longer than 25 minutes though, I almost felt like we didn't spend enough time.

This was something him and I were discussing and would potentially change in the future. Though we both agreed that most of the time when you listen to a podcast, you're doing other things... Playing your own game, driving, working out, whatever.

Yea, thats how I was listening to it at least. And all video content would just be stuff we've already seen anyways. Segments where you comment on specific videos/screenshots/etc could work though.

Same, I was doing other things while listening. You don't need to add text.

about the pvp, is there a way to test your damage and pvp skill outside of intense competitive play against monsters and in the arena? like a hit-dummy or a way to non-lethally dual a friend you want to practice pvp tactics with?

asking if they have already mentioned this in the past...

Against Monsters, no. However, there is a "Practice Round" before Arena matches, which will let you get settled and stuff.

But maybe include some images for those who don't? Arguably it could be helpful when talking about the poll for example, you could show a reel of all 10 character models?

For future pondering of course ;)

I never do anything else while listening to podcasts since the distraction makes it too hard to focus on what's being said.
