As many of you have seen, news has essentially ground to a halt. While for the last few years we have managed to fill a lot of the dead time with interesting editorials and speculative articles on unique features, lore, places, mechanics, and so on of Diablo I, Diablo II, Diablo III, and Battle.net, we have found that there is little left that has not been covered in the past. This puts us at a crux: we can resurface topics beaten to death already, or we can look elsewhere for ideas.
DiabloFans has survived for so long largely because of its vibrant, committed, and active community, not because of news, which we had scant none of for many years, not because of handy features like the wiki, which was not introduced until last year, and not because of the work of any singular person. After a gamut of discussions trying to pinpoint the issues in lowered activity, this has been touched on numerous times in the staff forum, and I know many of you have probably figured this out for yourselves by now.
This website is not run for the staff, however. It is run for you.
To try and come up with some fresh ideas for future editorials, articles, and so on, I would like to call on the wonderful community we already have to contribute. I am not guaranteeing that every, or even most, of your ideas will be published on the front page: this is only an opportunity.
You may submit your own work (as in, bits of research, whole articles, etc.) or simply propose ideas. I advise anyone considering this opportunity to first search through old news to make sure your idea(s) were not already covered, or covered well. You will be given credit for anything you contribute, should it be chosen to be completed/published.
Please PM me with any ideas, material, questions, or concerns.
I want to remind everyone of this opportunity. It's a great chance to get your voice out there, and it might not stick around forever. Dauroth did a great job with his article on Diablo throughout the series, with tons of constructive comments and a crapload of views.
If anyone else wants to become more involved with DiabloFans, this is your chance to shine
