Negotiating a home loan I'm working on securing; for the first time in my life I was able to push back at the banks today and truly not give a fuck what they think and I must to say it felt really good. They have been asking for all kinds of stuff to prove I can pay the loan (which they would be ass stupid to not do given the details of it) but their last request was just ass stupid. I basically told them to shit or get off the pot because in reality I hold all the cards.

I felt a bit like the Merovingian in Matrix Reloaded, although I am far less evil , in that scene where Neo, Morpheus, and Trinity go to see about getting the key maker.

Why is the only real source of power, without it you are powerless. And this is how you come to me: without why, without power, another link in the chain. The fact a bank is even really up your ass about a loan right now is pretty stupid. I thought home loans were going out more than ever now and it's not exactly like you're a hobo or something.

I'll tell you mortgage underwriters are a bunch of petty ass bean counters (at least these ones are) who couldn't recognize an obvious no brain opportunity when it falls into their lap.

It goes something like this as an example, lets say a this loan officer makes $1000 1 year loans plus interest. On average we'll say the interest is 5% as a matter of normal practice. Along you come willing to take that loan and you prove you can pay it back in just a week plus the entire 5% APR interest!

The obvious course of action is to make the loan, but this bean counter is an idiot, not realizing in 1 week you won't need their loan at all. The dullard bean counter thoughtlessly procrastinates and decides to ask you for ridiculous papers that have no weight in your ability to pay the loan.

So you tell them shit or get off the pot because you don't really need them, all you need is a little more patience because in a week you'll have the cash anyways to buy the thing you wanted a little sooner.
