Most likely, each character will be able to use certain things. Like the Barb will be able to use plate type gear like gothic and field armor, chain type gear like chain and scale armor, and leather like hard leather and studded armor. :/

Granted, thats just what I think and is not based off anything Blizzard said, so... Lol.

I never liked the idea of different classes having the only proficiency in armors, let the option be there to make the Monk wear plate but make it a little less attractive than leather / chainmail / cloth

Are you planning on restricting armor choices similarly?

Official Blizzard Quote:

There still aren?t any armor restriction planned. Armor is a different issue as it?s shown in much the same was as Diablo II, so more types don?t actually increase the animation/modeling costs like weapon types would.

It is from July.

Excellent, let's just hope they don't decide to change it.

They have said more recently that armors will look differently on each class. What is bulky plate armor on the Barbarian might just be some metal pieces on top of a leather shirt for a Monk.

Walk down the right back alley in Sin City... and you could find anything.

Another Topic off topic is, when a item gets damaged, you could see pieces of your armor fall off. like exposing an arm, or a rib, or your knee, etc. then you would have to repair it,

That is a really good idea. Holes in leather and dents in metal would look awesome. It would be fun to see a Barbarian coming back from a long dungeon looking like he really has been in a long battle ^^

Well you know guys they could just leave it like D2 where you have to invest in stats to wear armour and thus what you look like comes down to what you can wear, yet no class is limited in their ability to wear things.

WHAT IS THIS MADNESS OF A SYSTEM THAT OBVIOUSLY HAS WORKED IN THE PAST 2 GAMES!!!! ( 3 IF YOU COUNT HELLFIRE ).
On a serious note I agree, but Blizzard doesn't so we are stuck with every naked character being the same and the game really being item intensive.

well essentially i want the armor that took me awhile to get to be epic and a lot different from the robes i was wearing when i was a noob. there should be major varieties in armor intensity and not just replay the same images from other armors like in d2. each armor should be unique and the things you insert in the items should make armor look even more intense.
