If you're buying it for PC, you can find the Deluxe Edition on Steam for $65.

I played it and it was good, I was a huge fan of NWN but for some reason I couldn't stick with this game, it just got kinda old. I grew out of the combat system I guess, it's just not fluid enough for me.

Reading the book though and it's good.

About 16 hours in, and it's a lot of what I hoped it would be. I could compare this to LoTR, if LoTR was cool. xD It's very mature, and epic, and I like that. I really really really really want to do a total conversion for this game and make it into an Icewind Dale 3. :D I'm not a DnD nut but I loved those games and if they used this engine and the themes and made that, I'd be in heaven.

EDIT: I bought the regular version at Walmart on Friday and it had Shale in it. *shrugs*

I cannot WAIT for full conversions and good mods and more DLC.

I haven't found a good mod database for the game yet though.

Finished the game with an elf mage (arcane warrior/spirit healer..although no points in any of the spirit healer skills).

Heavy spoiler warning: if you haven't finished the game don't read this.

I love this game. I haven't ever played Baldur's Gate II and I didn't play NWN very much (I was such an idiot when it came to that game - I'm mostly used to JRPGs, and I didn't understand why I could only cast a spell once per day. That seemed ridiculous to me. I skipped through dialogue and couldn't figure out why I had no idea what I was doing! No D&D experience whatsoever), so I was skeptical at first about this game. But enough time has passed where I am intelligent enough to take on this game... Haha. Anyway, I love it. Already plugged in about 40 hours and I'm still not done!

I have heard some complaints about the games graphics on consoles. Anyone have any experience with the game on consoles. I have seen screen shots from the game on Xbox360 and it looks great I think. Any feedback?

"Complaints"? Yes, this game is by far much better on PC (although I have no experience with the game consoles, you could never get me to switch, after playing the PC version). If you think it looks great, what's stopping you? :D Eventually, the graphics won't be the focus of your attention. The story will!

People are just picky about graphics nowadays I guess.

Looks about how it runs on the computer on Medium-High.

I will say though that the controls are bound to be much better on PC.

Well you can if you want just keep in mind you won't have access to mods or anything.

Even if you prefer xbox id get it for pc and play with a controller or something. :P

I got it for xbox and I'm not regretting it. But I might buy it for PC too because I can't really get into the real strategic side of battles on the xbox due to the controls. I think if I got it on the PC I would use stuff like shield bashes and such more often and be a better player.
