We are proud to announce, as one of our three BlizzCon 2009 ticket giveaways, a Class Art Contest!

Have you ever wanted to design your own character class? Well here's your chance! All you need to submit is the name of your own favorite imaginary class along with a newly created artistic design of the class created by yourself. You must post your art entries in this thread.

The art MUST be created by you and specially for the contest. Do NOT use other people's material, we will find out if you use a stolen piece and you will be banned permanently for trying to cheat a contest. Judging will not only be based on skill, but originality as well so please don't be discouraged if you aren't the greatest artist in the world.

The contest will be judged by the Admins and Moderators of Diablofans.com.

Judging will be conducted on the following:

• Franchise Coherence (How well does your creation fit into the existing lore / style of Diablo?)
  
• Technical Skill (Use of advanced digital art techniques)
  
• Originality (How new is your idea? Have we heard something like it before?)

Rules

• You must post your entries in this thread.
  
• Enter as many times as you like, but put each entry in a separate post.
  
• If you have any questions, please post them in the Official Questions Thread. Do not post questions in this contest entries thread.

Prizes:

• The winner will of course receive one general admission pass to BlizzCon 2009! (Winner is responsible for own travel & hotel arrangements to BlizzCon). For more information about BlizzCon, please visit www.blizzcon.com
  
• One runner-up will receive a Diablofans.com t-shirt.

Deadline:

• All entries must be posted no later than 11:59 PM PST on Monday, June 8th, 2009.

Grr im not even 1/4 that good of artist i hope skill isn't everything cause my entry is really original so im praying always wanted to go to blizzcon lol :thumbsup:....:spam:

To me the morsabor looks like a druid who summons weird n' creepy bramble zombies. AKA a more awesome druid. lol XD

Up coming idea. Not finsihed yet i will edit this post when it is done I just wanted to show the progress so far.

Basiclly it is a type of undead class... for now i'll call it a 'Soul keeper' Before you start saying ":O undead in diablo wtf?!!? we are ment to be killing the evil not playing them!!" Well this class is different. It is the undead form of the sorcerer we all love! To gain the magical powers to cast spells she needs to collect souls (insted of mana basiclly) of the monsters. One of her special skills is that when she harvests the soul from a boss monster she temporally learns the knowledge of that boss and can cast one of the bosses spells.

here is what ive come up so far (yes its a male and not female but diablo3 has both genders!) The image is quite big lol let it load then zoom out

I'm going to touch everything up, create a better background and add more effects (there are huge holes in the middle of him at the moment, I'm going to add souls escaping/traveling around him). Also he lacks legs. I'm thinking twice about adding some. I may have him floating on a greeny ghost like mist insted of legs.

Slight update... starting to wish i didnt add those rips in him. To improve it further i think im going to remove the outline + create a better background. Ill also add some sorta staff into his left hand.

EDIT: haha omg the shading is all wrong. I shaded him as if the light source was coming from the other side >_<

If they don't let you I would say drop out of the contest. Then I would drop out with you lol.
Art in all forms is recreation and creative concepts that we perceive through past experiences with various images or events or what have you.

And in terms of the photoshop texture, a lot of professional artists use textures like that to create textures for their characters. It's not copyright infringement, it's using the tools and resources around you.

I think the "diablo glow" would be stretching it, but using a random image is ok. In fact,take a picture yourself and the image wont be copyrighted so it will be from scratch anyway using photoshop.

I intend to use texture aswell.

The Binder is going to be one of my entries for these contests. The idea is they bind their souls to demons, making them their thralls and enhancing their own latent magical powers differently for the type of demon bound.

Pretty cool. My only suggestion in helping you for the contest is that you might want to make the hands and feet more feminine. It's still rough though I'm sure.
