The winners of Blizzard's first Theme Park Contest have just been announced for each of the categories. Christina Marie DeLong was the lucky grand-prize winner, but considering what she came up with, I'm not so sure one should call it luck since she clearly put a lot of time into coming up with "Blizzard World". Take a look:

Nice, eh? Really like the coloring on it, and come on... you just can't go wrong with a "Demonic Petting Zoo" complete with "special feeds" so the children can give food to the tamed demons. Makes me wish the park was real. And speaking of demons, the other individual game category winners were announced as well, so naturally I gotta share with you the Diablo-themed winner:

I was admittedly hoping for an entire theme park dedicated solely to Diablo, but at least this one covers the Sanctuary quite nicely. I particularly enjoyed the descriptions such as the ride which drops you "into the depths of Hell faster than gravity itself" and how Adria the Witch sells a variety of things including "bath supplies" in her gift shop.

All in all, it was a great light-hearted contest and I hope Blizzard decides to make it an annual tradition. Be sure to check out the other winning entries such as the Starcraft and Warcraft themed ones along with all of the Honorable Mentions. Some really good stuff in the mix!

So what was your favorite part out of all the theme park entries? Did any of your entries make the cut? If you didn't enter this time, will you in the future if Blizzard holds another theme park contest?

Very creative. I wondered how these would turn out and now that I see them it looks a bit more practical than I first imagined. i can see why the first one won; it looks like it's professionally done and all of the ideas are solid...also the second one is very good.

I'd go to a theme park like that ANY day. 'nuf said.

None of them are bad, but I see why the first one won. It's definately right on the spot. Well thought out and displayed. Thumbs up!

I'm going to make an assumption that H should be directly across from I.

I like the 2nd Map better.

Wow, that first one is fantastic, although I couldn't have beaten the 2nd one either by a long shot :P

Now I'm wondering when the writing contest will be announced?

Diablo petting zoo? Wow somehow I get the feeling that the don't feed the animals sign their should be taken 100% seriously lol.

These are really awesome designs. I wish there were better D attractions though I love the Worldstone ride with Tyrael.

The first one is great, although the second gave more Diablo content. I wish I had given this a shot. Oh well.

Just like to say how horrible the first place one was. The starcraft theme one had waaaay more style.

So you know what program they used, evidenced by your disbelief that people knew how to use it, and then say you don't know what it is? That sentence, if it can be called that since it's both a statement and a question, makes no sense what-so-ever. And the fact that you added ten extra question marks does not make it any more important.

Secondly, neither of those pictures were made by fans from our site, so none of them could definitively answer the question since none of them made it. However, I'd guess it was hand-drawn and then touched up in Photoshop or something, since that seems to be the most prevalent image editing software.

The second one is only touched up in Photoshop. If I'm not wrong, it's drawn by hand, and water-colored. The first, I'm not so sure. You could have drawn one, and asked a friend who can hand Photoshop well, to touch it up for you.

I prefer the 2nd one, maybe because it seems to cover more of all the bases. The winning one seems to lack Diablo. :(

They're all very nice though. I'd pay to go.

Maybe, but I definately think it's a better piece of art. Or at least, I think it looks nicer :)
