Bashiok recently chimed in to respond to a fairly pushy fan's demands for more Diablo 3 information. The user by the name of Barnesy04 had 3 questions:

Looks like his pushy attitude managed to get some information out... check out what Bashiok had to say:

Finally, we get a BlizzCast pretty much dedicated to Diablo 3! And by the sound of things, the next Bestiary update is going to reveal something really interesting. The end o' the month can't come soon enough!

Kind of makes you wonder why Bashiok said that "I probably shouldn't say this" You have to question why SC2 would not be the star of BC8, if it's supposed to be hitting shelves this year? Hmmm......Maybe this was a huge hint that just got dropped.

and I think if SC2 will be coming out this year the date will be revealed at blizzcon. if they release a date for D3(which I doubt) it's definitely coming out before SC2. although, they said on numerous occasions that SC2 will come out first.

Since we now know that BC8 is going to be almost entirely based on D3, I am assuming that they are planning to release some BIG info. I'm excited as hell, why not, right? :)

Perhaps I am reading if out of context, but it just seems like it was a throw-away statement. Perhaps he means it.

However, did you consider there may have been some kind of unforseen problem with SC2, causing a delay of such proportions it would in turn make Blizz release D3 first?

Finally an almost entire Blizzcast for D3, always seemed like SC2 this and WoW that and two sentences about D3. I think it's obvious that Bashiok dropped this on purpose; I'm sure if he really wasn't allowed to mention it or there was no new info he wouldn't say anything. We certainly have gone quite a while without signifigant updates. Maybe some new levels, new monsters, new info about the gameplay or even new character; though I doubt that last one since that will probably wait for a major event.

Well, unless they delay SC2 to be released in 2011, then D3 won't come out sooner.

Fact #1: New battle.net is launching with SC2.

Fact #2: Diablo 3 is confirmed not to come out this year. Officially. It's also said that in the next couple of years (three or so), they will be releasing one game a year.

So if you want to be moderately optimistic, then hope that D3 comes out in 2010, and no later than that. In August, I am 99% sure they wil announce the release date for SC2 and you can expect it sometime October or November this year.

The concerning part is that 'one game a year' may include the other two SC2 games, the new WoW expansion, and the new MMO game. I'm just hoping they meant one completely new game a year, and not just a 'new title'.

I've got a feeling they have finished the town and that will we get a glimpse of what the town will look like + the NPC's in the town. Maybe we will even see some of act2.

D3 before Starcraft? Maybe. Release date announced on BC8? No chance in hell, another class revealed at best.

Exciting stuff. One pushy fan later, we're all on the edge of our seats. I think August's Blizzcon will, at best, reveal some important announcement of some kind - possibly the (then) last class, and some hands-on game time in some of the major locations of D3. Release date? Not so sure. I'll only become impatient if such info hasn't been released after say Feb '10.
