Diablo 3 is now a requiem for dream, one that has long since shown itself to be just that, a dream.
Instead of creating a Diablo that appeals to core-fans, for core-fans, they went the corporate route and tried to appeal to the widest possible demographic. The result; Many non-core Diablo fans didn't get it "What's the point of this game" is what they said.
The core-fans felt shunned, "Why is this not like Diablo 2" they often said.
So in trying to appeal to the widest possible audience, they shunned both and it seems only a fraction of some fringe demographic remain. I've been fighting it for many weeks now. The dread uninstall, as if that singular action would be a confirmation of something I never wanted to see happen, Diablo 3 being a mistake.
If...and that's a big IF....I hear the right things in November, I'll be back. But I just don't see it. I'm moving on this 6th day of September 2013. A year and a half I fought through it. I stuck with it.
All I got in return was canned corporate jargon. This console bullshit did it for me. Not that I'm opposed to a console version. I'm opposed to the timing. The fact that they had the nerve to do that in the midst of their PC failure. The fact that they are obviously being forced by higher-ups to withhold real change, if it even comes at all, until well after the console so as not to interfere with console sales.
If you people can't see this, you're blinded by some intangible hope, as I have been. Unlike some dickheads, I won't be sticking around here to poke at people whom do, for some reason, stick with this game. If this latest chapter hasn't made you quit, nothing will but time. So a shout to some of the cool cats that prowl this forum. Maka, Zero, Elendiro.
Shaggy, you're not a pleasant person. Thanks for removing me from your F/L weeks ago and not having the balls to explain it when asked.
Hope the devs fight off the corporate entities and do the right thing, but I'm not sure they care either. Maybe I'll see y'all again. If I do, it's a good sign because that means Blizzcon wasn't just another one of their pomp-laden "shows" where they take a steaming shit on core fans while making it sound AWESOME.
