I'm just wondering if the Console version of the game is actually worth it? Because if I get the Ps3 version of the game I'm still going to play the PC one. So that means if there is an expansion pack I'm going to have to buy 2 copies, the money isn't the issue, its just is it actually worth the investment of time. Why would I start completely over from nothing and have the same thing I have on my PC? Is there any significant difference between the 2 that would change the game?
The game play will be fundamentally different. There is no "better" or "worse" (unless they fuck something up fundamentally - which I can't imagine since they've had over a year live experience on PC).
The console version has several advantages/features:
"Playable from the couch"
Game pad control
No auction house (D2-style offline self-found mode with friends)
A lot of focus on the co-located multiplayer experience
Some smooth game play changes to adapt to the console interface changes, which might make game play at times feel a bit more casual
On the other hand, the PC version brings to the table:
Mouse and keyboard control
The auction house (whether you like it or not)
Less ability to cheat due to no offline mode (console version will see trainers, cheats, and in particular hacked save games)
Organizing about ~100 items, if you're hoarder, is probably gonna be a pain in the ass on console and much better using mouse on PC
In the end, it comes down to personal preference as well. Even though the absence of the AH and the casual game play would make the console a perfect fit for me, I just don't like consoles. Never owned one, probably will never own one. Was damn close on buying a Kinect once because I like novel interfaces, but then I watched some kids playing some random game in the store and was like "I'm not in kindergarden anymore" and went home.

Personally, I'm pre-ordering it. I have a group of friends that dearly misses the "couch coop" experience from the good old PS2 days.
I've got it re-ordered as well. It'l be fun to kind of start over either way, but I'm getting it mostly as a secondary game to play when buddies are over or I'm over at their house, and being able to use a controller should be pretty awesome =) My only concern so far is how far out any itemization updates are for the console when compared to the PC. Hopefully it'l be just a couple month gap at most.
I'm getting the xbox version. Can't wait for it to come out
