Season 20 Meta-Watch: Solo Witch Doctor
Witch Doctors were in desperate need of something new going into Season 20. With many of the main Witch Doctor players switching to different classes for the previous couple seasons, there was a tangible excitement in the air when the Mundunugu's set was revealed. Now that we are several weeks into Season 20, taking a quick glance at the solo Witch Doctor leaderboard in each region will make it clear that the Mundunugu's set has lived up to the hype, and is the overwhelmingly dominate build for the majority of Witch Doctors this season.
The build utilizes the Ring of Royal Grandeur to run the full six piece set bonus of Mundunugu's while also using the three piece set bonus from Captain Crimson's. The damage potential of this solo build is huge, and we will see just how strong it can be when we look at the group meta later this season. There are very few variations of this Mundunugu's build, with most of the variation being present in whether you choose to wear Captain Crimson's pants or boots. This build also does not make use of the seasonal theme for Season 20, meaning that there will be very little power loss once Season 20 is over.
This set and build looks like a lot of fun, I'm loving the fact it doesn't depend too much on the seasonal theme as well. I main barb through thick and thin but I'll definitely alt a Witch Doctor this season for some variety.
For myself, I play the season on both PC and console, so I usually save my alt characters for the console push. Witch Doctor is my alt of choice this season, and this build is great!
