While there's obviously not a lot of Diablo 3 gaming news being spread around right now, I do have some good news regarding the site. My co-webmaster pal Umaro just confirmed that the big server upgrade is now completed. Here are the spiffy new stats:

-AMD Opteron 1216HE [dual 2.4GHz]
-4 gigs o' RAM
-2 250gig SataII HD in Raid 1

So yeah, now the server is bigger, better, stronger, faster... and yes, hungrier. For tacos. Mmmm... TacoCraft. Also, the forums are getting upgraded to the latest version sometime tonight, so hooray for upgrades all around!

It's really nice to hear some good news around here. Too bad it's not something about Diablo III, but it's better to have this then something from Aug 4th when we're in mid-November.

Heheh, well as I've said before: it's not a question of [I]if[/I] Diablo 3 will happen, it's a question of [I]when[/I] Diablo 3 will happen. It's simply a test of our collective patience. Fortunately, there are plenty of other games to keep us entertained in the meantime.

didnt take long for the majority of this site to start thinking that. some have thought that since the first finished LOD.

Ooh that sounds so sexy, its not d3 news but its still close.  Ya I seen that error in the coding pop up earlier today,  but im glad to hear of this news.  Can't wait to see the upgrades tomorrow.

Yes, it took awhile for some people's DNS info to change to the new stuff (those getting the board is down error for a long time) and that weird code was because the new server was using updated software and our forum software was old, its all good now.

If anyone finds any other problems relating to the site move, please tell me.

No wonder it was difficult for me yesterday to log in. After i put in my user name and password, a message popped up saying "Attempting to move servers, hang in there".

Very good to hear. I can't complain on earlier performance, but improvements are all good :D
