Gamescom 2016 Recap & BlizzCon Expectations
If you haven't been following most Diablo news, quite a few people expected for this year's Gamescom to have some sort of reveal regarding the franchise, and the result was kinda disappointing.
Rhykker made a video going over what happened at Gamescom, and then discussed the probability of something big happening at BlizzCon later this year - and what that could be. Check it out!
Hmm, a lot of people were wondering what happened at Gamescom and why other fans are even remotely hyped up about BlizzCon. I figured his video was a very clean and quick way to catch-up if you have no idea why some hoped Gamescom would have anything or any BlizzCon is "the last hope".
There was really no way he could've "already" talked about Gamescom when that was roughly a week ago. And I think it's the first time he wraps things up with BlizzCon too. But I could be wrong.
I'm not sure if anyone else had brought up the "mobile Diablo" concept, but I've been saying it could be a thing in these forums since January.

I guess the idea isn't valid unless I create a YouTube channel and make a speculation video about it.
Would people be more excited to hear news of a D2 remake/Diablo 4 or would majority be more excited about a D3 expansion? Just wondering. I'm not sure how excited I would be to hear about another D3 expansion.
*edit: I probably would play the D3 exp, but I'd much rather see HD D2 or D4.
An expansion would be nice, but it'd have to address the issue that there isn't a whole lot to do in the game aside from praying for an ideal Greater Rift.
D2 is nice in rose tinted glasses, but the core game has far too many issues and limitations for a modern game that a graphical update wouldn't fix.
D4 would be the biggest risk for Blizzard but also potentially the best game: a chance to fix the rubbish coding of D3, put in a cosmetic way for them to make money from the offset, while adding entirely new gameplay for players.
yet another pointless clickbait 15min video about nothing. Classic Rhykker.
Hm. I made a comment to the video but for some reason it's not showing up. Anyways, in my opinion it can't be a mobile game (nor an expansion). I have no idea why Rhykker believes that multithreading is a hint for mobile development; it's not, it's a requirement in engine development for 10+ years. Also, the job posting requires C++ and Direct X knowledge, and while C++ is very unlikely to hint at mobile (it works for Android using NDK but it's not really the preferred language) Direct X clearly says it *can't be mobile*.
Also, all the job postings on the Blizzard page (engine developer, graphics concept designer) hint to a new game and not just some remake or expansion. Reviewing the same info that Rhykker has to me this absolutely 100% hints at something along the lines of Diablo 4. Although as we remember in an interview a while back Blizzard sounded like they considered Diablo to be a trilogy, and I personally think with Cain dead and the story in D3 being rather weak a franchise reboot might be advisable, so I'd put my money on some Diablo-related new game. But not D3 mobile, D3X2, or D2HD. Maybe any of those are coming as well, but they're not related to the job posts.
I want a D3 Xpac because I do not want to wait another 4 years to without any major Diablo content (This is likely when Diablo 4 would be released based on normal Blizzard trends).
The mobile area makes no sense for Diablo, they already have Hearthstone. They may enter the mobile area with something else as a standalone, but it will NEVER be WoW or Diablo or Starcraft. Those are the company lifeblood titles, making them into mobile games sully's the name IMO.
OR Maybe it will be a lost vikings game like diablo 3
It's obviously hints towards a really dark Skyrim-like M-rated Diablo game with strong player content support.
Super excited for BlizzCon though!
I'm putting my money on a Diablo RTS.
