Season 6 will begin with the usual updates to Season Journey objectives, Conquest rotations, and rewards. We’ll tackle rewards later, but in the meantime, here are the challenges you can expect to face in Season 6!
Season Journey Updates
We’re now settling into a format for Seasons that we’ve grown comfortable with as both players and developers. With each Season going forward, objectives will rotate to create a fresh experience.
Similarly, the steps that unlock Haedrig’s Gift, a special bundle of Set items unlocked throughout the Season Journey, will differ slightly with this season. Starting in Chapter 3, three of the objectives in the Season Journey will reward you with one of these bundles, each containing two (or in some cases, three) pieces of one of your class sets.
Here are the objectives that will reward set pieces for Season 6:
- Chapter III: Reach Level 70
- Chapter IV: Defeat Izual at level 70 on Torment II or higher
- Chapter IV: Complete a Greater Rift Level 20 solo.
Note that all players will only earn one full class set per Season, including both Hardcore and Non-Hardcore Seasonal characters, so choose wisely! Here are the sets you can expect to receive early on in your adventures for Season 6:
- Barbarian: Legacy of Raekor
- Crusader: Armor of Akkhan
- Demon Hunter: Embodiment of the Marauder
- Monk: Inna’s Mantra
- Witch Doctor: Zunimassa’s Haunt
- Wizard: Delsere’s Magnum Opus
New and Updated Conquests
Conquests continue to be a staple of the Seasonal experience, and we’re bringing back a few Conquests from Season past for Season 6, updated to reflect increases in set and class power over time:
Is the name of your game speed, speed, speed? Then you might want to focus on Conquests like Speed Demon and Boss Mode, which challenge you to complete tasks under strict time limits. Perhaps you’re more of a lone wolf and can’t wait to push past Greater Rift Level 75 with Divinity or Lionhearted? You may be eager to put your nose to the grinder with leveling three Legendary Gems to 65 with On a Good Day. Or maybe it’s the monsters you wish to put through the grinder by massacring 350 of them in a Cursed Chest event with Curses!
There’s plenty to do, and no matter your flavor for firepower, glory awaits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When does Season 6 start?
A: Season 6 will begin Friday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. PDT in North America, 5:00 p.m. CEST in Europe, and 5:00 p.m. KST in Asia. For assistance with time zones, click here.
Q: How long will Season 6 last?
A: All seasons going forward will last approximately three months.
Q: When are the non-Seasonal Leaderboards being wiped?
A: Non-Seasonal Leaderboards are tied to what we call “Eras.” The next Era is planned to end onThursday, April 28 at 5 p.m. PDT. For more information, check our forum post here.
Q: Will Seasons be coming to console?
A: Some features on console are best designed for that platform, and the same is true for the PC version of the game. A large part of the fun of Seasons is the entire community rerolling heroes together at the same time. Because the offline and disconnected nature of console does not support this style of play, we do not currently have plans to implement Seasons on console.
Q: What will happen to older Seasonal records?
A: As we continue on into additional Seasons, we will no longer be able to store some personal Seasonal records. While Season 6 will store your personal bests for all Seasons to date, at some point in a future Season, we will begin removing old personal bests, beginning with Season 1. This will be true regardless of your personal participation in previous Seasons. We will have more information on this change at a later date.
Seasonal Leaderboard records are not being cleared, and will remain archived both in game and on our website.
Are You Ready?
Season 6 is raring to go, and we can’t wait to get rolling on it right alongside you on day one!

A part of me is kind of bummed they give free set pieces away like candy.
D3 isn't about the journey like Titan Quest or most ARPGs were. The game starts at max level and when you have enough gear to make a specific playstyle work at least on the max non GR difficulty level, or T8 for people who play season at the start.
They also said that "D3 is a game you play for a few weeks at the start of a season, and then put aside until next season". Blizzard is making casual games, good casual games, but casual nonetheless, so it's pretty normal for them to adopt this philosophy.
And so, giving away free pieces of gear like candy seems to be what you'd expect, at this point. D3 is more like a monster killing simulator than an ARPG really. Even though ARPGs ARE about killing monsters, there's a big emphasis on character building, not so much in D3.
tl;dr free sets is ok considering Blizzard's casual philosophy.
As primarily a NS player, The current implementation of Haedrig's Gift does allow me to get that tab in under a week then go back to NS play. I hit ~P400 in S5 when I got my tab but still helped out clan mates with getting their tab so ended up at ~P600. I did not want to hang around seasons more than I needed to with the exception of attempting some Conquests simply because I had the gear.
But making the seasonal journey easier for players like me will dilute the experience for players who play seasons for seasons.
I love how they provide the akkhan set...yet that set was the most desired set to be balanced being that it brings almost half a dozen builds to the game yet in this patch where its purpose was to buff under-performing sets...it wasn't even toughed. WHAT THE FUCK?!
So, my Zuni Gargs build will work best then. And this is what i'll play
Zunimassa GARGS GR100+
i'll go with a monk uliana and inna, still need to try a lon sweeping wind
wiz and dh have decent starting sets, barb too. everyone else is on their own pretty much.
some conquests are a bit too easy though.. its a shame i was hoping for tougher ones than season 5.
I'm glad for the free sets, because it is one of the carrots my casual friends need to help get them back into the game. They won't likely be able to get the stash tab, but they'll be able to have some fun in T6 and hopefully get some personal best GRifts.
I love the free sets because it allows people to just hop in, and progress, it still takes a little time to get to the 3 requirements, not that long but just long enough to get you going in seasons, and now you have a set, not having to farm 20 hours to get it like before, so you are having fun..sooner...and how is that a bad thing?
It simply is a way to jump right in and start killing, vs farming for hours in hopes you get the set pieces, some are lucky...others not so much (I'm in the rng hates me group myself) and i think them rotating the sets this season is awesome because i really didn't care for shadow set for DH last season, i mean sure it was op as hell, and i liked the playstyle difference..but ehhh....Marauders with pets and turrets etc looks way more fun, and even a multi build with it (i used dark fiend set multi last season)
So i think they have achieved their goals, updated sets, balance, exciting new stuff, and not a lot of super big changes to seasons so that everyone can enjoy it, casual or not, they have done that and can only get better as we go.
