D3 Development Team Changes
Two big recent changes to the Diablo 3 development team were recently publicized: John Yang has been moved to the WoW team; and Leonard Boyarski, the D3 lead world designer, left Blizzard to work for Obsidian- as shown in his facebook timeline and on a post by Timothy Cain.
What do you think that means for the franchise? Some players seem to think that drastically reduces the chances of us seeing a second expansion. But what about the March news that Blizzard was hiring for a new unrevealed game in the Diablo universe?

More Ban Waves
Players are reporting on forums and Reddit even more ban waves hitting as we reach the end of S5 on April 15th - totalizing at least five known ban waves for players who made usage of third party programs. Cheaters beware next season!

It the best news that they left. Maybe there some light for D3.

Posted Apr 13, 2016In a company as large as Blizz, it's not surprising that people have been moved around or left the company.
In John's case, he's apparently been gone for a few months, imo a few months is at least 3, so I think it's safe to assume we got a 2.4 patch as well as season 5 without him on the team.
There's always promotions from within the existing team or even the option of hiring new blood.
Long story short, if Bliz wants to give D3 another expansion, they certainly have it within their power to do so without Yang or Boyarsky. If they're planning on D4, then yet again, they've got the manpower and hiring capabilities to make that happen.
Anyone losing their mind over either departure need to take their meds, it's all gonna be ok.

Posted Apr 13, 2016It's not a bad thing for people to move around from time-to-time. Having someone work on a project for a long time might cause stagnation in their ideas. Fresh blood could help push the game to improve.

Posted Apr 13, 2016So why in the last like 5 patches has Blizzard put SO MUCH TIME and money and effort into making sure the game is what the fans want and adding new stuff and blah blah. I figured it would have to be for the next expansion to come. It only makes sense to have everything currently in the game now be equal and usable and likeable THEN you make another expansion and its smooth sailing from there, you just have to focus on the new exp. stuff. But..it seems....thats not the case.

Posted Apr 13, 2016great. the new guys have to get up to speed, have to test the boundaries for new or unconventional stuff and have to adjust to the new work environment. it is already sad that there is no real patch for season 6 and i'd really like some heavy UI changes for the handling of overlapping seasonal => non-seasonal items.
but we will see in november. i personally don't think they will introduce a diablo 4, they normally don't kill off a big number that quick. also, what would a diablo 4 have to be to be anything different than diablo 3 and still stay true to the franchise? diablo 3 is great on its own, but you have to constantly work on it.
that leaves us with an expansion. it has to be an expansion, else there won't be a very big population in this game come 2017. if they announce diablo 2 lod hd, people will leave d3 in waves.
