Which Class Will You Play on Season 5?
We would like to know: what class are you planning to roll when S5 starts, and why? Is it your favorite class? Or the one you expect to be the strongest? Will you use it to farm items for another hero? Will you stick with it or try to play all classes? Let us know in the comments!
Quick Gem Leveling Tip
MHM has published a handy video for non-seasonal players who want to do something before Patch 2.4 releases, and S5 begins. He discusses a possible optimal setup for quickly upgrading legendary gems, which will be invaluable once the Caldesann's Despair recipe is available. Check it out!
im just speechless
Speed grifting without Nemesis bracers? Kinda strange.
Also every now and again, you run into rifts without consistent pylons or you skip them accidentally for whatever reason. Certainly viable to run without these.
I've been able to do a GR55 @ 2m 43s, and GR65 @ 6m on wizard. Just wondering what other classes are at.
Pick up radius on gear is huge for this. I think you can get up to +16 on gear? The only thing i would like to add to this technique is the addition of nemesis bracers as an extra elite pack or two early on can greatly reduce overall time. Especially for low level gem leveling there really is no "noticeable" dent in dmg since it is mostly overkill on the lower levels. i find i can comfortably do this until 45ish grifts (always dependent on map/mobs of course).
my favorite is DH and I always roll one every season. That said, last season DH was not very good for me as I struggled doing the conquests. I'm reluctant but probably going to try a different class this time.
I'll be playing crusader this season. I've played DH, Monk, and Barb in past seasons so looking for a change. I really like the build variety on PTR for Crusader. Phalanx LoN farms bounties crazy fast, and Invoker gets you pushing GR in a hurry. Although when solo, Invoker was having a hard time clearing whites and blues that were spread out quickly. I ended up just riding between elite packs on GRs.
Guys - it's not a build video, it's specifically a general concept for (newer) players regarding fast upgrades. I just happen to have a geared DH and all I had to do was swap a couple pieces and passives and I'm ready to go. Furthermore, chicken doc can be fast at the very low tiers, but once you get the uppers (50+) it slows to a crawl since LS doesn't tic for enough damage to kill trash before you're too far away. DH scales into 70+ without much trouble with fire UE.
going to have to agree here, i mained WD ever since vanilla, pretty much. I love dh and clearing speed is soooo much quicker when geared. I do like the WD setup with the chicken and what not, I've tried it but it does take some skill more so than DH multi build, i am maxed on gear on both toons this past season, my wd is full ancient, so i know pretty well both classes/builds.
I think from a clearing standpoint at least under 50 (I've never made it past 55 ish with any toon, never pushed myself was lazy) that multi fire is a beast for clearing entire rooms fast, plus all the natural speed of dh, and with vault, smoke, it just cruises. Where as WD you have to kinda set yourself up a little more, placing chicken bombs, and yes it can outrun a DH if done right but its not as easy as DH is where you just run and gun and i think personally i love the DH play-style of that build better, than the constant bomb and go of WD.
And as was said the chicken bomb doesn't scale as well pushing past 50, where DH multi will still melt pretty well 55+ from what i gather, i did really fine at 50-52 on my DH without pushing, and my WD with full ancient helltooth, zombie/firewall build pushed i think 56 before i retired him (started playing fallout 4....) so yeah i just think personally DH > WD for clearing, but obviously when skilled the WD just does just as good..i just didn't prefer that play-style, i tried to like it, just didn't appeal to me, and i wasnt very good at it as a result.
Either way i am super excited about s5, DH and WD are both going to be stupid op, and I'll be trying out Crusader as main, as i skipped Crusader season 4, but those new builds and videos I've been watching, Crusader looks to finally get some love in s5.
Monks and barbs same ol boring builds, a few new tricks and toys but those 2 feel like been there done that (to each their own)
I will not be playing seasons but I will go back to Jade once the patch hits. If I want the pet I'll just level a WD since it's the easiest class to level thanks to haunt.
Won't be playing seasons. It's a garbage gimmick.
True. BUT so many peeps need to realize chicken doc isn't exclusively arachyr... all it requires is 2piece Manajuma's. You can run Helltooth or whatever your heart desires with insane movement and do GRifts 65+ easy.
I've been planning (and voted) Crusader, but honestly since the PTR is still up (why is the PTR still up) all I've been doing today is running Shadow DH even though I don't really have anything to test or gain from it. Assassin play is just so much fun.
Ah sorry for derailing then, was more concerned with ease and continuity of the build from low end to mid level GR, since it's more efficient to use variations of the same build to level gems from 0 to 50 (same base skill + gear setup).
Thank you for the input on the WD build scaling. I think it would be nice if all classes had consistent scaling for at least one of their core sets. Was hoping with the buffs to set bonuses on the PTR this would be more prevalent.
Perm vengeance also giving 40% dmg
3-4 new 50%+ dmg reduction options
UE with Multishot
Mara with Cluster Arrow or Multishot or Chakram
Shadow's with Impale / FoK
Nat's with Strafe or whatever
LoN with uh I saw a a Strafe build, but any skill you want really.
Demon Hunters are so much fun and all classes are pretty much comparable in power this patch.
I'm looking at rolling a DH, but is it still spamming your skills towards monters off-screen you can barely see? That sucks the joy out of everything
They really messed up with Vengeance. Now it's a must have in every single build, and the cube powers are pretty much always going to be the two new legendaries that buff this skill. Epiphany / Wrath all over again.
Wizzard for sure
