Seasons on Consoles Not Feasible
Wyatt Cheng replied to a thread asking about the possibility of console players having Seasons. He explained that unfortunately it's not a feasible feature to port over. See the post below.

Unfortunately this quote got blown way out of context.
After that interview we spent some time re-evaluating the technical challenges, opportunity cost, and most importantly the lack of a secure online environment and concluded seasons on console was not something we could ever reasonably pursue.
Diablo on console is of prime importance to us, which is why we simultaneous ship our patches, and always consider every feature on all platforms. (The empowered Rift UI for shared couch co-op was a fun one to design!) While there are some features that are unique to one platform or the other (such as console having nemesis and apprentice while PC has seasons) those are usually the exception rather than the norm
D2 Theme Power Version
megadriver has released a heavy metal cover of the Tristram theme from Diablo 2. Check it out!
Happy holidays Sanctuary, Diablofans, and fellow Nephalems!
sweet pic right there Dfans
distorted electric guitars should be enough to call it heavy metal.
to your definition almost every famous pop song nowadays should be heavy metal since it sounds dissonant to me. (I like many metal genres pretty much and am probably one of the guys who's adoring harmonic and melodic music overall... ) just sayin'
that tristram theme btw. is really nice, but overall the original is much better
ouch, that nylon string guitar is so out of tune
I feel just like that DH in that holiday picture... Uninvited! *ba-dum-tsh*... I'll see myself out. Oh, right! Happy Holidays everyone!
distortion is dissonance by default. the human brain just adepted to it. distortion nowadays is a simulated amplified signal (digital spoken) which is the original tone surrounded by tons of overtones.
just sayin and that is why metal music is most commonly accepted by music with highly distorted guitars --> dissonance.
would like to get more into detail but english is not my first language and I'm feeling very handicapped talking about this topic ^^
"... heavy metal cover of the Tristram theme from Diablo
21"fixed it for ya
Thank you diablofans!
I wish all the best to everybody behind diablofans and their families all the best, as well.
i know basic music theory and am not new to this topic. in fact i play and study guitar (mostly electric) myself for almost 20 years now. so your explanations all make sense musically spoken. even the band examples which you mentioned totally fitting. as i said before the problem i have is with the "clean" signal being amplified and that the definition of dissonance should apply to high gain e-guitars.
some decades ago it was pretty common to only play "clean" very quiet and and fully turn up the volume for high gain distortion effects (to be fair it was more like "overdrive" at the very beginning...). they didnt had the technology to balance those channels out. you have natural harmonics at those noise levels (and even nowadays just simulated ones).
all those harmonics (or must i say overtone to be clear?) can cause dissonance evolutionary spoken but not in the whole piece of music. you are right here.
but just maybe we're already digging too deep here on a diablofans comment section
