T10 Support Monk

MannerCookie has made a quick and to the point video guide to a Support Monk that can make farming T10 a breeze for his party. A great spec that has a unique playstyle and is a ton of fun! He has uploaded the build to our Builds section as well - check it out!

Helltooth Lag in Action

Some users have been wondering what is the Helltooth lag that devs and other players mention. Wd WDson has made a video showcasing his hardcore Witch Doctor going through the issue, and having quite a few close calls because of it.

Let's hope Blizzard can fix that soon - in the meanwhile, be careful with the set on hardcore chars.

it's not only helltooth.

Hammerdin has the same issue in group in 60+. I've ran a few 65s with my friends. I can make myself lag in solo if i want to. No one talk about crusader because people don't play it

Same here. I have to watch my WD getting pushed of the leaderboards slowly, because I don't have any more keys, nerves and time to do yet another super failed 63+ run in which my gear becomes red. It is a stupid joke. Have rerolled Healing Monk and so I can least watch others make good progress and support them without crashing the game.

it's not set, it's `wall of death` ability

I did 40gr nonset conquest and still have same lags, so it's builds problem not set itself

though it also sometimes lag sometimes not, especially in the early morning there is no lag at all, so it's also related on servers data exchange

Its good to see MannerCookie can bully and shit talk his way on the site listen to his stream sometime he does nothing but shit talk the site then bully you to post his builds

He didn't "bully" anyone into posting anything

As we clarified to him over PM, we were not posting his videos and builds because (as he implied after being banned and on PTR afterwards) we thought he had left D3 for good. There are no grudges from anyone on DiabloFans against MannerCookie, and afaik he doesn't have anything against us either. get your facts straight before assuming things.

Drama aside, his content is solid. His theorycrafting has been proven to be spot on frequently in the past, and he has shown the build to work both live on stream and on the video guide. That's what matters to us.

We look to feature a good mix of information/guides for all types of players, high end stuff, mid of the road specs and more casual builds that don't have an 80 hour playtime requirement. That's why we feature from wudijo/chainer, to meatheadmikhail, to rhykker/deadset's "basic" guides. They're all targeted towards a specific audience, and as long as they have decent substance we'll continue to feature and support content creators here on DFans.

just listen to his stream hes said there is at least one build/news poster that has personal bias (vod was removed shocker). Where are the Debo builds or countless others builds (reddit etc.) that don't get front page. You play favorites expecially with guys like meatheadmikhail no way around that.

Why is that? I assumed that people would love that since it's, well, fucking Hammerdin after all. Is the set not powerful enough? I haven't tried yet, don't even have the gear, but it's on my radar.

Like Zero mentioned this site isn't just tailored for "serious" D3 players and videos from other creators such as MHM have a lot of value for beginners who frequent this site and are not as knowledgeable.

I very rarely make those kinds of videos and they are also needed in the community as much as the "best" builds.

To be clear I requested Zero to post this video guide because I felt it will be beneficial for lots of people to help progress into TX farming and Zero would not have posted it if he didn't feel it was content worth sharing with the community.

I didn't "bully" anyone, your giving me way too much credit if you think that.

On the Debo builds is a good point, I've seen that guy make some extensive post on WD's, but haven't seen much of him on the front page..

I experienced something similar with the Helltrapper M6 slowball build (back when it was 'flavour of the month', before the Helltrapper adjustment), but with the HT bears build is much worse.

Yesterday in GR50 solo (which is fairly low by present standards) decent but not amazing density I got several instances where I was rubberbanding within a 10-15 yard box while the game halted/stuttered around me; only way to clear the glitch was to TP and get back.

Now this was extreme but my gameplay in general was plagued with a multitude of lesser instances of lag.

I can only imagine how this feels in GR60+ and in group.

It is a shame because is a close second to generator Monk in my preferred builds for this patch; is so much fun to play when is not lagging. I sincerely hope Blizzard can stomp this bug before the build falls victim to power creep and fades into oblivion.

Did the ever say as to whether the issue is caused by density + damage = lots of calculations taking a toll on their servers or is it an amalgamation of problems in general once you hit a certain threshold?

Maybe they should call up Grinding Gear Games and ask them how they pulled off their Lock step system.

"lock step" is just a fancy name for "disabled client prediction". In D3 even if you have 100 ms your character moves instantly, but if you get jailed you will be teleported back a few steps. This is how it works in all first person shooters as well. It's also how it worked in POE but since their servers are running with shit instead of electricity, they changed it to server side only. Like Heroes of the Storm for example. Or even strategy games like Starcraft II. This particular problem appears to be dot related, or the dots are simply the biggest offenders, but it's much worse than desyncing in POE. And quite frankly I don't want to see D3 use server side character movement.

So I lost my DH today due to a server DC. I was playing on solo like that WD, are you telling me I could have just hit esc to "pause" the game and not lost my char?

It's a fan site guys. Everyone with content deemed worthwhile by the staff gets featured. This isn't PYWT, nor is it Rank 1 only. I've been here long enough to know. If the content is valid, it's featured. Enjoy the game everyone, 2.3 is the best patch since release.
