ZiggyD Dev Interview

ZiggyD uploaded an interview with D3 developers Kevin Martens and John Yang to his youtube channel. In the video he gives a summary of content coming Patch 2.3, with the interview starting at roughly the 3 min 40 sec mark. We've also put together a quick summary of the main points below. Check it out!

  • Devs think the item hunt is in a good spot, and that it's more varied than ever - specially with the changes to Bounties and tuning of Adventure mode.
  • They are always looking for ways to improve the Item Hunt game.
  • Rift Bosses were tuned so that players don't have to "fish" a better boss. They are trying to match their power level.
  • They have no new systems so far along development for them to announce right now.
  • Regardind group experience leeching - they are gonna wait and see if it becomes a huge issue or if it's a matter of player preference. It also comes down to whether the actual gameplay of that style is boring.
  • On the Paragon problem (for leaderboards) - instead of removing the benefit of Paragon levels for everybody so that the top 2% have a better competitive environment, they spent a ton of time tuning high GRs and higher difficulties.
  • They'll discuss a system (suggested by Ziggy and the community) that can limit Paragon influence on the higher GR levels of competition (for instance, by capping mainstat influence).

3D Kanai's Cube Fanart

Ji has sent us an awesome 3D fanart of Kanai's Cube that he made, to pay homage to Kevin Kanai Griffith and also to celebrate the return of such an iconic item to the franchise. Check it out! Pay a visit to his portfolio as well if you enjoyed it.
