The timer for US is wrong, it shows Season 3 going live in 2 hours and 20 mins. It goes live at 9 PM PST!!!!

On the video above, his point about "effective DPS" over "DPS" bugs me a bit considering the game already calculates most of that stuff internally.

So long as the game says that one will gain damage from equipping a new weapon, how much of a difference can it really make to calculate EDPS? Would one really lose out on damage at all?

I understand the synergy between slower weapons and abilities that cost bigger chunks of resource. Aside from that, though, I have no reason to believe that the game would be misleading to the point of creating a difference larger than a fraction of a percent.

Basically, I'd like to know if this EDPS thing is more than just a buzzphrase?

The best leveling tip for those who are in no particular hurry is to wait a couple days until rush threads begin to pop up on Reddit for those looking to do Boon of the Hoarder runs.

This obviously wasn't tested in the 2.2 PTR. I'm pretty sure he tested in 2.1.2 live.

It's just an update based on his 2.1.2 guide which was: "Do all the 'cursed chest" bounties then remake."

He added that someone else suggested doing Halls of Agony 3 runs for the density until you deadend, then remake.

So he just combined the 2. First do the Halls of Agony 3 run, then do the chests.

Well, if he had done testing in the PTR, he would have discovered that with RNG and all the new bounties added, you hardly ever find bounties with chests.

Well looking for the "cursed chests'' just wastes time. You're luck to find 1 of them in 2.2. Better off just doing the density runs in Halls of Agony and be done with it. If you see a chest, go for it, but, don't count on seeing 3 of them like you did in 2.1.2. Probably better just to do Halls 3 and any Festering Woods Bounties and do a chest if you see one on the Act 1 general map, just to save time scanning the other Act maps. If you are familiar with the old maps, the new layouts will throw you off as well as all the new bounties.

If my weapon's DPS is 2000 at 2.00 attacks per second, is it better than a weapon that has 1000 DPS at 1.0 attacks per second? Perhaps for some builds, but if your build revolves around spamming a resource spender, then faster attack speed doesn't benefit you. I explain this thoroughly in my written guide here. Once you run out of resources, your damage is basically 0 DPS (minimal DPS from your resource generator). So faster attack speed simply helps you run out of resource faster. My use of the term "effective DPS" is not at all a buzzword, but a way of getting a weapon's DPS without attack speed artificially increasing the figure. To return to our original question, once we factor out attack speed, the 2000 DPS weapon is actually just a 1000 DPS weapon, exactly like the other. Normally though, weapons with higher attack speed have lower effective DPS values than slower weapons. To put this very simply... when you have a limited number of bullets, do you want to be able to shoot off weak bullets very very quickly, or really powerful bullets at a slower pace? The answer is the latter will make you deal more damage, in the end.

We did 1-70 and found enough cursed bounties to make them worth the 1 second it takes to look for them on the map. Just go to the global map, mouse over Act 1 and Act 4, and only pay attention if you see the word "cursed." I am able to do this while people are still loading into the game; it effectively wastes 0 time to scan for the bounties. They do spawn less often than previously, though, yes.

I watched part of your stream (around the time you all got Leoric's crown) and found it pretty interesting. I like the spreadsheet and how it shows when to swap out skills and at what level the blacksmith gives you an upgraded 2-H, very handy! I'm flowing this guide pretty closely now, except I'll do more of the quests and zones because, as was pointed out, you don't get a lot of cursed quests, and I just like the diversity. I like Halls of Agony 2 and Festering Woods, both have really good density and good mob types.

I discovered that Pox Faulds are amazing if you can find them, the proc goes off a lot and the AOE one shots lesser mobs on Hard... you can basically AFK certain cursed bounties with them!

My question is, how long is it viable to use a ~lvl 20 Leoric's crown, and Leoric's signet too (since I have one)? Thanks.

Cheers! My stream is normally much more interactive, just FYI; we were focused on speed leveling that day. As far as viability... I used my crown until 70. You just have to weigh what will make you level up faster. If a new helm gives 7% more damage but 30% less XP, then the clearing speed gained by having more damage will not outweigh the XP loss
