D2 Ladder Reset

Some of you Diablo fans still play D2 every now and then? For old times' sake? Well, if you do you might wanna know that there was a planned reset for the D2 Ladder today (25th November), and that the realms are already back up. Check the post from Tyvalir below!

It’s that time again! On the morning of Tuesday, November 25, we’ll be conducting maintenance in order to reset the Diablo II ladder. We anticipate the realms could be down for up to six hours, and during that time all existing ladder characters will be converted to non-ladder. All characters and items being converted to non-ladder will remain intact, but once converted these characters will no longer have access to ladder content such as ladder-only rune words.

This ladder reset, like all those before it, creates a clean slate where all ladder characters begin at level 1 with no previous items to help them. To participate, simply wait until the Diablo II realms return to service on November 25, log in to Battle.net, and select the “Ladder Character” checkbox when creating a new character. You can track ladder character leveling progress by clicking on the Ladder button from the main Diablo II in-game Battle.net interface.

Greater Rift Damage Scaling

Patch 2.1.2 Notes state that monster damage in higher Greater Rift levels has been reduced. But by how much, the average player would inquire. jmbcool has made a post over at Reddit, with datamined information by p0d3x, explaining exactly what that changes means. Check the snippet below, or the original post for the full Greater Rift damage scaling chart!

PTR 2.1.2 PATCH NOTE:
Monster damage in Greater Rifts level 26 and higher has been reduced

WHAT THIS MEANS:
Until now, monster damage was increased by 13.2% for every level you went up in Greater Rifts. In 2.1.2, levels 1-25 are still the same (13.2% increase), but starting at L26 the damage increases by only 10%.
Health scaling has not changed. Monster health still increases by 17% per level.
Fancy chart time!

HOW TO READ THE CHART:
  • Level: Greater Rift level
  • Damage: Multiplier applied to base damage. L1 is 1.3, or 130% base damage, equivalent to Hard difficulty.
  • Inc%: the amount of increase compared to the previous level.
  • New v. Old: 2.1.2 damage compared to old damage for the same level. At L35, monsters deal 75% of the damage they used to deal. At L49, 50%.

End of Season in Video

The mechanics when a Season ends has been explained a few times - how items are "mailed" to you and that you have 30 days to claim them. Meatheadmikhail has put together a video showing the overhauled mailing user interface in action in the PTR, so that players know what to expect when a new Season goes live. Check it out.
