Overpwn - Overwatch Heroes, News, and Forums

We've launched our sister site for Blizzard's newest game, Overwatch, which was revealed at this year's BlizzCon. Overpwn features a database with all the announced Heroescommunity forums to discuss the game, and news to keep you up to date with all the Overwatch announcements as we wait for beta.
Overwatch Beta starts next year, and you can opt-in to the test via Battle.net account management.

Leaderboard Wipes

A player in the official forums inquired about Non-Seasonal Leaderboard wipes. Tyvalir replied explaining that the current plans are to wipe the Non-Seasonal Leaderboards at around the same time the next Season hits - which will be the end of the First "Era", as they call it. It should coincide with the big changes Patch 2.1.2 brings, but nothing is set in stone yet. Check below!

Also this will give more of an incentive for people to play seasons and gain immortality that way.
I think the devs were talking something about non-seasonal "era" being wiped at the same time with the seasonal leaderboards.
That's right. Non-Seasonal Leaderboards are tied to what we call “Eras.”

We haven't yet determined when the end of our first Era will be, but we currently anticipate it coinciding with changes for the next Season. We’ll provide an update when we announce an end date for Season 1.
So what do they do for "era" wiping? Delete all the non-seasonal characters and their items? A true hard reset or something?
No, it just means that non-Seasonal Greater Rift leaderboards will be reset. Your non-Seasonal characters will not be reset at the end of "Era." Apologies for the alarm!

Season 1 End on PTR

On a similar question, a player asked about whether or not during the Patch 2.1.2 PTR testing, Season 1 will end and Season 2 items will start dropping. Nevalistis explained that while initially they'll stick to Season 1, as testing progresses Season 2 will roll over (on the PTR) and its exclusive legendaries will start dropping. So definitely expect to be able to test out combinations of old powerhouses you find now and new Season 2 Exclusive Legendaries.

Not initially, but we do plan to roll the end of the Season during the course of the PTR. While I don't have a specific date just yet on when this will occur, this will be a relatively short testing phase and it shouldn't take too long.
From reading the post and following the history and trends I can guess with about 95% certainty that they will end PTR season one and start season 2 on PTR, Live won't be affected until they test season 2 on PTR
Verifying this. I was specifically talking about Season 1 ending on the PTR.

We have not yet announced the end of Season 1 for live, nor have we given the 30 day warning for the end of the Season.

Rift Issues on the PTR

A blue post came up for players who are helping test Patch 2.1.2 in the PTR and come across any issues with either Nephalem or Greater Rifts, directing them to post in a thread with some specific information on the issue, if possible. Make sure to report any problems you might encounter when testing. See more info below!

Hi Everyone,

We all hope you are enjoying the 2.1.2 PTR and are having a good time digging into the game changes present. One of the larger changes we made for this round of PTR involves Nephalem and Greater Rift levels and how they are arranged. As a result, there are very likely some bugs present, such as missing scenes/tiles, dead ends (where there shouldn't be dead ends) and possibly even population issues.

If you have experienced any issues with Greater or Nephalem rifts similar to what I just described, please add a reply to this thread with the specifics. In general, this is the kind of info we need:

  • Detailed description of the problem
  • Description of the tileset that the rift used (in most cases, the story mode area it resembles is best)
  • Screenshots! These are probably the most helpful, hands down
We really appreciate your help testing Patch 2.1.2 on the PTR! Thank you!

Blizzcon 2014 Transmogs

Players who personally attended Blizzcon or bought a virtual ticket got some exclusive in-game transmogrifications. MeatHeadMikhail has put together a video showing all the exclusive skins and their animations. Awesome stuff - check it out!
