GR Density Issues Feedback

Blizzard is looking for specific information regarding player reports on Greater Rifts that cannot be completed due to low monster density. They are looking to gather information with the help of players so they can analyse the issue as deeply as possible. Drop by the thread if you have encountered a similar situation and have useful information to contribute!

Hi Everyone,

In recent weeks we have seen reports of players encountering Nephalem Rifts or Greater Rifts that seemingly cannot be completed due to lack of monsters. If possible, we would like to gather a little bit more information from you about the circumstances in which you encountered an issue like this.

If you have encountered a situation where you could not complete a Rift due to a lack of sufficient monsters left to fill your progress bar, please reply to this thread with answers to the following questions:

    • Was this a normal Nephalem Rift or a Greater Rift?
    • How many total floors were in the Rift?
    • What types of monsters populated the Rift? List any and every type of monster you remember seeing, divided up by which floor each type was found on as well as any other information about how monsters were distributed that you can recall.
    • What type of level or "tileset" was used. We don't expect you to know the specific name for our levels, but a short description of the type of environment will do.
Example:  Act I "Crypts", or Act 2 "Aqueducts".
Lastly, if you can, posting links to screenshots of yourself in the rift, the monsters in the rift, and of the open area map is greatly appreciated as it helps us better identify any remaining potential problem areas.

We really appreciate you taking the time to read this and add your replies. Thank you!

I just want to note and clarify that we are not soliciting opinions on density, suggestions for balance improvements, or any other type of feedback. We are looking for additional information to help us identify any remaining situations in which you could be put into a position to not be able to complete a rift at all, specifically because there are not enough monsters remaining in the Rift to fill the progress bar. Reports of instances where you simply ran out of time, or were forced to explore more of the map to find additional monsters are not what we are looking for.

That said, this is not to say that this kind of feedback isn't appreciated. The bug report forum is simply is not the place for it. I hope that helps clarify what we are looking for. Thank you for your understanding and assistance in this.

New Legendary Gems

It appears the developers have plans to add more legendary gems in the future, and some of those might be more defense oriented (like Moratorium). No details just yet, but a great teaser either way! They are also keeping their eyes open for great community suggestions on those, so definitely share your ideas to mix up the metagame and incentivize new playstyles.

Great discussion going on here, guys.

Regarding Chrono's second point, we do have plans to add more Legendary Gems to the game in the future, including those that are more defense-oriented. We don't have a time frame to share for when the next batch of Legendary Gems will be added just yet, though.

In the meantime, we've been keeping a close eye on your gem suggestions, so if you've got an idea...let us know!

UEE and Patch 2.1

Some blue posts came up explaining that the console version of Reaper of Souls has content up to Patch 2.0.6, and that while they plan to bring Patch 2.1 to consoles, Seasons and their exclusive items are initially not planned to be ported over. Read below.

The Vault is currently only found on PC, since it was added in patch 2.1, and UEE shipped with content up to patch 2.0.6. We've announced that we intend to provide patch support for PS4 and Xbox One, so in the future just keep an eye on the forums for more information about what's on the way.
I struggle on anything higher than expert mode. Also is there a way to add sockets to gear?
You might be able to add a socket to an item through Enchanting with the Mystic, but there are some limits to what items can have sockets, and how many they can have. Helms, amulets, rings, and weapons can have up to 1 socket, but pants can have 2, and chest armor can have up to 3.

The best way to advance in difficulty is to just keep playing, having fun, and it will come with time. Thanks again for joining us, and have a blast on your crusade! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Seasons and Exclusive Legendaries
Because the Seasons will not be included as part of Patch 2.1.0 for consoles, the Seasonal Legendaries will also not be included. We haven't released information for plans beyond 2.1.0 yet, however as info becomes available we'll be sure to share that. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Barbarian GR World Record

Dutch Freak (aka DFslet) has set a world record in solo GR runs for Barbarians - he managed to clear a Level 44 Rift [!] (with this character). He also shared his build on our forums, giving quite a few details on itemization, skill build and optimal play style. Make sure to check his thread out. You can also see his playthrough in the video below!
