Blue Posts Roundup

There were two interesting blue posts today. The first on how much power an item like Maximus can gain with bonus %elemental-damage working in Patch 2.1, and the other about how easy it is to miss the option to filter craftable items, which could lead to a change in the future making that easier to notice for new players.

A Crusader in my PTR group was testing some builds with a Maximus the other night, and it made a noticeable difference in how quickly we were bringing down monsters.

The fantasy of a Crusader using a demon to assist them in war is a little strange, though, but maybe it's just me. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Plans Not Showing Up

Okay i have been playing Diablo for about a year now and i absolutely love it. However, there is still so much i don't know about it. Before when i would get a plan drop, I could just right click when talking to the blacksmith and the plan would show up. Yesterday i dropped FOUR plans all within 3 hours!!!! So i rushed to the blacksmith, clicked on craft, and right clicked on the plans. When i did this, the blacksmith had that same old swirly thing come over him as if he was taught the plans, but they are nowhere to be found. Like i said, I still have so much to learn and i now this is probably an easy fix I just need answers!!! Thanks for any input
Yeah, the option to filter craftable items on the artisans was patched in 2.0, and sometimes it can be a little easy to miss, especially for returning players. I think I'll bring it up in a meeting since I see it pop up on the forums now and then, and hopefully adding a blue reply in this thread helps highlight it for others. I'm glad one of your fellow players was able to help, and have fun with your adventures in Sanctuary!

Junger Theory Testing

MeatHeadMikhail made a series of videos testing the (in vogue) "Junger Rules", a theory which states that you can follow certain guidelines to greatly increase the chances of getting a Ring of Royal Grandeur. The sample might not be huge (75 caches), but it's probably a good place to start. Some will swear the theory works, and some will swear it's tinfoil. Check the videos to see his results!

Because you think it's fluff? Well, if you watch the videos you'd see that nothing points that the Junger Rules actually work, so MHM's conclusion is that it is fluff.

My own personal opinion since day one is that the theory is similar to the "loot server" theory - pure tinfoil. But I haven't published the video to promote my own point of view, but only because it was the only slightly "long term - data-centric" analysis video that I could find on the matter. And since so many people are talking about it these days, I figured it would be worth watching.

Also, these have been somewhat weak days news-wise, so yeah.

Junger's an officer in my clan and he himself knows that everything's more or less unconfirmed with a hefty portion of the "rules" being based on tinfoil.

He actually wants me to try and get Blizzard to outright confirm or debunk his theories just so he can go along his way. Our clan jokes all the time about his "Junger Rules" community being a cult

I may try to talk to Blizzard about this one of these days.

One thing Junger Rules does do is speed up runs, which means more time clearing Bounties and more Caches to pop. That directly results in more opportunities to get the loot you want.

This was my initial reaction (to MetaHead Mikhail rather than DiabloFans) when he uploaded his first video. He is one of my favourite streamers/youtuber, and I have learnt and benefited a lot from his videos. I was disappointed that he would be trying to give credibility to this nonsense, and encourage others to chase silly theories. However, once I watched the entire first video I realised that he wasn't advocating the theory at all. If anything, he pointed out from the outset that he thought it was tinfoil nonsense. I would recommend you watch all the videos before passing judgement (as I initially did). You will then realise that MHM is not promoting the junger rules theory.....

I think people jump to conclusions and start typing before actually watching the videos. As others have pointed out (and myself several times), I just wanted to see if there was any correlation with doing things differently ('the junger way') vs. standard farming. Yes, the sample size is limited, and no I'm not going to post every time I pop 25 caches, but what prompted me to initially do this mini-series were the claims of people finding rorgs left and right, which is simply not the case. I've tried several different ways of doing this, and nothing points to any more legendaries or rorgs from caches, with the only benefit - as others have also noted - being that you get more bounties done in less time so you give up world drop legendaries, mats, gems, etc, for more chances at a rorg due to having a larger number of caches. That's all. Don't read into it too much!

I believe this is still a matter of some debate. I know I have heard of people earning caches on their main and stashing them for an alt with a different mainstat and the alt hets useful items.

I have also seen people copy characters to PTR with caches, and opening them yields totally different contents on live and PTR- Though you can't really judge based on that, you would think that if the items were, in fact, already determined they would be the same after you copied your character to PTR.

Farming a cache on a strength character and opening it on a dex character will give you items with dex rolls. I think there's a blue post somewhere confirming that. However, there's no confirmation regarding class-specific items in caches (like quivers, sources, etc) or how legendaries are generated. But the other part is easy to test if you're not lazy.
