Blue Post Roundup

Below is a roundup of recent blue posts. They mention an explanation of how the gear rewards are structured, a fix for an old Ray of Frost bug, that there is still a Q&A planned for before the UEE release and how there is the possibility of seasons starting after Patch 2.1.

Ok, so I'm pretty new. Not to Diablo, but to D3.Today I broke down and bought reaper of souls, and completed act 5 in a few hours. I've been playing solo, while my son levels a new toon. I started rifting right away, after I finished Act 5, but I have noticed that even though I'm level 65, every piece of gear that I get is 61. Doesn't matter what the difficulty is set at, and it doesn't matter what act I play in, every piece of gear is 61. I couldn't count them all but I'd guess over 100 drops.... all 61. Is this working as intended?
The item levels in Reaper of Souls comes in brackets, so it is working as intended. The brackets change at level 61, 66, and 70, and when they drop is based on your character's level. That also means item levels won't change based on the game mode you're in.

The reason the gear comes in level brackets, though, is that we didn't want players to feel like they need to equip a new set of gear every time they level up while they're on their journey to 70. We really appreciate you giving Reaper of Souls a try, and we hope you and your son have fun adventuring in Sanctuary! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Ultimate Evil Edition Q&A
I know it's been a while, but I promise we haven't forgotten about everyone's questions for Ultimate Evil Edition. The Q&A is still in the works, and we're still on track to share it with all of you before we ship UEE. We appreciate everyone's contributions, questions, and participation in these conversations, and we're looking forward to seeing all of you in UEE on Aug 19! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Ray of Frost Bug
EDIT: Video of Bug: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LiqA-mWZf5U

This issue has been posted in the Bug Report forums for literally many months now(http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12505981119 ); I've bumped that thread countless times and never gotten a reply. I know that isn't the first thread about it. I played on the PTR tonight, as of the third PTR patch, and I'm going to post again because this rather game-breaking bug is now disrupting my Greater Rift times.

Using Ray of Frost with Light of Grace against some varieties of crawler/torso-type monsters or other tiny monsters will result in absolutely ZERO DAMAGE DONE. Ray of Frost completely and 100% fails to hit the target.
Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to pop in here and let you know that we have a fix in place for this internally that you should see in the next PTR patch. Thanks for the reports! (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Seasons and Patch 2.1
im liking the season so far on ptr
good job and im glad to hear it will be released with 2.1
thanks blizzard really hit it right in the head with this patch
cant wait
Just added a clarification to my previous post: The goal is to implement the Seasons feature with patch 2.1, but it has still to be decided when the first season will start.
essentially you're saying "here's the car, I'll give you the keys later"
Hmm, I can see why you might think that, but that isn't really the message I'm trying to convey - To use a similar car-analogy: "Here's a new production technology being installed in our car factories that'll make it possible to manufacture a new car model, we'll let you know when the new car model will become available for consumers" (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

The Sage Kings

Danion has released a project he's been working for some time now, the first part of a Diablo 3 stop motion movie called The Sage Kings. The end-result is mindblowing, with very high quality and unique drawing, editing and voice acting, all done by Danion himself. Watch it below!

The Sage Kings is a short film done in multiple parts. It tells an in depth lore story about the Monks from Diablo 3 and their believes in order to destroy evil in all forms. However I decided to twist our already known lore and add a new dimension to it. With a new and interesting concept I give the Monks a more in depth story in line with a unique drawing style and in game footage.

"Every hundred years, according to an old, but not forgotten prophecy; one of the chosen that live high above in the Foothills, would transcend his brothers and sisters and become something what we could call: The Angels from Heaven."

All lines are voice acted to add the sense of heriocness from the Sage King as well as the enemies he faces. Epic battle music and a dramatic atmosphere are following itself quickly in order to keep things interesting.

So, if you have the time, please take a look at the first part of The Sage Kings! Part 2 is coming very soon and it will future the Butcher and the Skeleton King. (Original Source)

Play Your Way's Build of the Week

This week's Play Your Way build is an Arcane-based Melee Wizard. Check a snippet below or, if interested, the full blog post here.

Today, Billou#1123 wants to challenge that archetype and bring you a warrior Wizard build that will have you up close, personal, and shredding your enemies to pieces.

About the Build:

Standing toe to toe with enemies is no small feat for the Wizard. Melee classes come equipped with a built in 30% damage reduction, making the option to stay at ranged much more appealing for the Wizard. It can be intimidating to consider jumping into the fray on a class that doesn't carry that expectation, but Billou was up to the challenge. "What makes the Arcane Melee Wizard build really stand out is the simple fact that what you're doing is what your class is supposed to be bad at: rushing directly into giant groups of monsters and tanking them with your face," he writes, stressing that one of the most rewarding things about playing his build is the stream of comments and recognition he receives for making what seems to be the impossible just plain work.

Teleporting into a pack of enemies is no longer a mistake (except maybe for the unfortunate victims).

Throwing together some uncommonly used skills, Billou has discovered a unique and quirky synergy that produces extremely satisfying results. After investing in useful crafted items and finding a few wonderfully complementary items, this Hardcore player has climbed his way up to mid Torment levels by tanking them with his face. Commendable indeed!

Lightning Wizard on the PTR

Jaetch has uploaded a video where he shows how a Lightning Wizard would work, based on its variants of Arcane Torrent, Blizzard and Explosive Blast. You might wanna check it out, and start farming Lightning-related gear for 2.1!
