Blues on Break During Holidays
The Community Team on the official forums will be taking a few days of break to enjoy the holidays, and so should you!

In the meantime, whether in Sanctuary, Azeroth, Mar Sara, or beyond, we hope that you and yours share in the warmth of the season. It's truly been a pleasure for us to represent Blizzard and the Diablo III community this past year, and we want to thank each and every one of you for your support, your reports, and (most importantly) your passion.
Happy holidays! http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12144858/

Will There Be More Beta Invites?
Adding more people to the Reaper of Souls beta certainly isn't off the table, but whether or not we issues more invites all depends on our testing needs. If we do send out more invites, we'll definitely let the community know. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
Christmas in New Tristram
LordMurasama, from the official forums, has made a nice little addition to the atmosphere in Diablo 3, adding the holiday joy!
I know I'll catch flack for it....but I wouldn't mind holiday themed events.
The blues are on holidays?!?! But I paid $60 for this game! I expect the best 24/7 fanservice and everything that I want put into the game! Biggest waste of money.
I'm with you mate. People don't like the whole holiday themed events, but they don't realize the events don't need to be all colorful and happy that they think it will be like. Blizzard have a great team, I'm sure they could easily think up some holiday-related diablo-themed events. They also don't necessarily need to be the same kind of set up that the one's in WoW or other games have.
I think just having treasure goblins with a santa hat and beard would be enough to satisfy a lot of people who want a "holiday theme" around this time of year. That said its not an mmo and I'm not a huge fan of devs using time that could be used to work on RoS because every few hours delayed is that much more time that I have to wait. What if just that minor change introduces some weird bug that breaks the game while patching? Code is a mysterious thing that requires virgin sacrifices from time to time ya know.
how about the 2.0 patch?
