Update on the F&F Beta Account Wipe

An update to the Friends and Family Beta Account Wipe post has been made. Read on for details.

At present, we anticipate that we'll be keeping the beta offline until our patch and character wipe can be completed. This means that once the beta is brought back online, a new patch should be available and all beta characters should be wiped.

We apologize for the short notice and would like to thank everyone for their feedback thus far!

Change In The CE Wings Functionality On The Way

A key change of the way the Collector Edition Wings are activated is coming with Patch 2.0.1.

To turn the wings off, you will simply be able to click the item to “use” the item again. This also means that you will be able to turn the wings on, and store the item in your stash, all the while maintaining the sweet visual effect on your character.

If a player sells their Angelic Wings item, however, then the buff will automatically be removed when you sell the item. You can of course get the wings back by creating a new character on the account in the same way that it works now.
Your Zergified Blade Wings will be usable in the same manner. :) For the Swarm!
Do the wings also show in the menu at hero selection screen? (and clan player list)
They won't be viewable on either the hero selection screen or clan player list, but it's something we may do in the future. :)

Nephalem Trials and Cursed Chests

The bulk of content that was once Nephalem Trials has been converted into Cursed Chests and will be playable after the next Beta patch!

While we may not be able to implement some of the more grandiose ideas we've seen shared on fan sites and these forums during the course of our beta, we still want to know how you feel our current systems and features can be improved. And we're still interested in exploring options for the future! Development doesn't stop at launch with any Blizzard game, and Reaper of Souls will be no exception.

Similarly, while a big focus of the any Blizzard beta is polish and refinement, that doesn't mean the only thing we intend to do during beta is remove content. As an example, we've taken the bulk of content that was once Nephalem Trials and converted them into a new style of event called Cursed Chests. These events should be available in the next phase of testing and on the PTR, and we’ll be able to share a bit more about them as that draws nearer.

Based on your'e track record with D3 why should I have faith my concerns will be addressed?

That’s for you to decide. What I can do is provide as much information as possible and as it becomes available, so that you can make an informed choice and provide us your feedback. Contrary to what’s been presented in this thread, we are listening, and we’re super eager to hear what you have to say. In particular, we are ever grateful to those who have taken the time to productively and constructively present their concerns or ideas, and we encourage you to continue doing so. I promise it’s not going into the void!

Paragon 2.0 Clarifications

Nevalistis answered several Paragon 2.0 questions yesterday and went on answering some more today.

Ah, you're right. I can see where this could be incorrectly inferred. I did mean that any characters that are currently at level 60 will still be level 60 the moment they log into Reaper of Souls. They won't automatically level to 70 because of Paragon experience. The experience pools for Paragon and Character level are completely independent of one another, as I mentioned previously.

Does that mean that with a new character, I can't play Act 5 until I am level 60??
Currently, in order to access Act V, a character must have defeated Diablo in Act IV. Of course, as with all things, this is subject to change, but that's how it stands at the moment.

If I have a lvl 60 character, 100 paragon, and I start playing it, do I earn paragon points on top of leveling the char to 70, or does the paragon pause till I get to 70?
Paragon "pauses" until you reach level cap. However, any level character still benefits from the Paragon levels they already have, as Paragon levels now apply to all characters on an account. You just won't earn any more Paragon experience (and subsequently, Paragon points to spend) until you reach level cap. If you do not have Reaper of Souls then this is level 60, while in the expansion it's level 70.
