More Paragon 2.0 Details
In a continuation of Paragon 2.0's information stream coming from Travis Day and the Community Management team, Lylirra pointed out a few more things today.

For HC paragon, that "loss" will not impact the EXP you gained on the account.
Correct! That's how both character deletion and character death (for Hardcore) currently play into Paragon 2.0.

As a sort of side-note, one of the big questions for the Hardcore community is whether or not currently-dead characters will contribute to your HC Shared Paragon level once Paragon 2.0 rolls out. That decision has not yet been made. We know that this is impacting the way some HC enthusiasts are choosing to play right now, so once we've made a decision we'll be sure to let you know. (Note, however, that even if we do make a decision in the near future, things may still change all the way up until Paragon 2.0 goes live based on testing and feedback.)

Alright, so. Let's get everything into one place. :)

Paragon 2.0 is a work-in-progress.
All points below are as of current design.
Details are subject to change before Paragon 2.0 goes live.
More information will be made available as development continues.

- With Paragon 2.0, we're making three significant changes to the Paragon system. The first is that we're removing the cap on Paragon levels. Players can now earn as many Paragon levels as they please.

- The second is that Paragon levels are now account-wide per game type. Game type = game mode (i.e. Normal and Hardcore). All Normal characters on an account will share a Paragon level. Similarly, all Hardcore characters on an account will share a Paragon level. Following Paragon 2.0 going live, any Paragon experience you gain on your Normal or Hardcore characters will contribute to your account’s Normal Shared Paragon level or Hardcore Shared Paragon level, respectively.

- The third change is that we've removed the innate bonuses granted by Paragon levels, and players will now earn Paragon Points every time they level up. These points can then be spent to boost up various stats in four different categories: Core Stats, Offensive, Defensive, and Adventure.

- What category a Paragon Point can be spent in will be determined by what Paragon level you earn. Paragon level 1 gives you a point to spend in "Core Stat," Paragon level 2 gives you a point to in "Offensive," Paragon level 3 gives you a point to spend in "Defensive," and Paragon level 4 gives you a point to spend in "Utility" (or "Adventure"). Each Paragon level past that follows the same pattern.

- All categories other than Core Stats (DEX, INT, STR, VIT) have a cap on the number of points that can be allocated to them, which also means there is a cap to the total number of points that 3 of the 4 categories can have. At present, this means if you reach Shared Paragon 800, you will have maxed the number of points that can be allocated to the Offensive, Defensive, and Utility categories and all future Paragon levels you earn will grant you a point in the Core Stat category instead.

- Your account's Paragon Point pool is not shared between your characters. Instead, characters on your account will each get their own set of Paragon Points to spend independently (e.g. you can spend your Paragon Points differently for each character). To provide an example, if your account's Normal Shared Paragon level is 100, all Normal characters on your account will each get 100 Paragon Points to distribute as you see fit.

- Players can respec their Paragon Points. We've not yet finalized whether or not respeccing Paragon Points will incur a cost, or what the respec cost might be if we decide to implement one.

- When Paragon 2.0 goes live, we'll being adding up all the Paragon experience on each of your characters, and we'll be using that combined total (the total amount of Paragon experience you have, not the total number of Paragon levels) to determine your Shared Paragon level. Again, this will be broken down by game type.

- The leveling curve for Paragon 2.0 has not yet been finalized, so we are unable to provide a direct conversion of current Paragon levels > Shared Paragon levels at this time.

- Under Paragon 2.0, if a character dies or is deleted, the amount of Paragon experience it contributed to your Shared Paragon level will not be lost. This is a benefit of having Paragon experience stored at the account level, rather than at the character level.

- Whether or not currently-dead characters will contribute to your account's Hardcore Shared Paragon level once Paragon 2.0 rolls out has not been decided. We know that this is impacting the way some Hardcore enthusiasts are choosing to play right now, so once we've made a decision we'll be sure to let you know. (Note, however, that even if we do make a decision in the near future, things may still change all the way up until Paragon 2.0 goes live based on testing and feedback.)

- All characters will be able to contribute to Shared Paragon levels equally. There are no bonuses or burdens for Paragon leveling multiple characters of the same class.

- We don't have any information about new Paragon portraits at this time.

- Travis Day offers more development insight into Paragon 2.0 here, here, and here.

Feedback is absolutely welcome!

The Future of AH Cards is Unknown
What's going to happen to AH cards that can be bought from big store chains remains unclear for now. Turns out there are people that have bought stacks of them to give as a present in the future and since such present would be - let's say - obsolete, the question of refunds has being brought up.

That's super thoughtful of you! :)

I'm afraid I can't give you an answer right now, though. We're still working out all the technical details for the shut down, so we don't have all the answers right now. But we will, and we'll be sharing them with all of you once they're available -- likely within the same FAQ thread we posted today as well as more front-page blog posts. We know these details are important, and our goal is to ensure that this transition goes as smoothly as possible. That requires keeping the community informed of what will happen to things like posted auctions, items or currency in the Completed Tab, Battle.net Balance, and ancillary things like auction house gift cards and cash out options. This is partly why we wanted to give players such advanced notice, as it'll allow enough time for all the appropriate preparations to be made (both on your end and on ours).

TL;DR: We don't know yet. But once we do, you'll know too.

(I already noted this in another thread, but it I think it bears repeating here. Sorry for the duped text!)

gameplay wise the loot system (aka better trading being not being forced to trade haha) is being held back by the AH and removing it has been thoroughly considered, the reimbursement is still under discussion.
This is pretty much spot on. The decision of whether or not to remove the auction houses was indeed heavily belabored. We notified the community as soon as we arrived at our decision, though, rather than keeping it under wraps, which means there are still some technical details (and a few gameplay ones, too) that need to be figured out. We'll be making sure to keep players updated throughout this entire process, taking care to address questions like Zayta presented as soon as the information is available.

Yep Wal-Mart has em. Everyone does them nowadays, example; Google Play.

I think they are just "Battle.net Balance".

I'm really sorry I couldn't understand it, all better :)

We don't have Wal-mart in Australia, perhaps they're sold in America only? Either that or I don't get out enough. Probably the latter haha.

    I still don't understand that P2.0 system...

That means if I reach next Paragon level on one of my characters than all of my characters get 1 point to their own paragon "skill tree" ???

For example: I delete all of my characters before Paragon 2.0 goes live. Than Paragon 2.0 goes live. I create 10 (12) new characters and play one of them to Paragon Level 800. All of my rest 9 (11) characters will be Level 1 but with 200 points in each paragon bonus categories ???

Yes to shared, no to split points.

If you earn paragon 800 all your characters have 800 paragon points.

I wouldn't say that achieving p100 means you can consider yourself the best in your class, I've seen a few that were trolls and idiots.

I really hope you're right, but this would also mean they completely strip MF from the game. Thing is, if they remove MF from paragon as part of these "innate bonuses" and don't provide MF otherwise (it's on none of the tabs in the current paragon system), people will go back to MF gear switching. Therefore they either need to provide MF in another fashion or (and I would prefer this) remove it completely from the game, i.e., from all gear as well.
  • #12 Zek
MF is one of the Paragon bonuses included in the datamining. It is possible that they will remove it completely though except from MP and NV.
  • #13 Bagstone
That's exactly what I'm saying: there is no official word on it.

It's not on any of the 4 tabs, but it still seems to be in the game. If Kickin_It is right and it's removed as an innate paragon bonus, where else does it appear? It's in the datamined info, but it appeared nowhere else so far, and MF was not mentioned in any of the paragon-related blue posts. We're just trying to connect the bread crumbs.

I came to think about it, and realized that the new Paragon system will mean a nerf for a lot of people.

It's all depending on what paragon level you are - but remove the innate bonuses from paragon levels, and you need a far higher paragon level to actually get the same benefits that you got before.

I mean, say i'm paragon lvl 50, i get like 150 str, 100 vit etc. i'f i'm a barb. and i get tons of GF MF.

Now you remove thoose bonuses, and re-do it with the new system. Meaning that i'll get 12.5 points in each category to spend. Which does not equate to thoose stats given with GF/MF, Str, Vit, etc.

This makes me think that a lot of people who are currently low on paragon level will feel rather bad about the upcoming change. At least i am sort of worried for it.

I think I remember reading that mf/gf would appear under the utility/adventuring tab. I'll have to dig it up when I'm not on my phone.

Currently, from our Paragon datamined bonuses, Magic Find and Gold Pickup appear there. Can't say I see Gold Find.

Makes sense, gold would be less desired without an AH.

But there Is official word on it, paragon levels will only provide the paragon points nothing else, read the quoted blue post, what is so hard to comprehend? With MF/GF they have 3 options add it under the Adventuring tab, roll it into NV or make players gear for it again.

Yeah, it makes sense. I was just under the impression that it was not on the adventuring tab, but I might be wrong. Tried to find a screenshot of the adventuring tab, no success yet. I just remember that Athene read all the paragon treats on all tabs out in his video and there was no MF.

From the previous posts on datamined information, the paragon attributes where you can invest points should be these currently.
    core
    ParagonBonusLabel_Strength - Strength [{VALUE}|+|]
    ParagonBonusLabel_Dexterity - Dexterity [{VALUE}|+|]
    ParagonBonusLabel_Intelligence - Intelligence [{VALUE}|+|]
    ParagonBonusLabel_Vitality - Vitality [{VALUE}|+|]
    offence
    ParagonBonusLabel_Attacks_Per_Second_Bonus - Attack Speed [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Crit_Percent_Bonus_Capped - Critical Hit Chance [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Crit_Damage_Percent - Critical Hit Damage [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Power_Cooldown_Reduction_Percent - Cooldown Reduction [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    utility
    ParagonBonusLabel_Resource_Max_Bonus - Maximum Mana /Fury /Spirit /Arcane Power /Hatred /Wraith [{VALUE}|2+|]
    ParagonBonusLabel_Resource_Regen_Bonus_Percent - Mana /Fury /Spirit /Arcane Power /Hatred /Wraith Regeneration % [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Movement_Bonus_Run_Speed - Movement Speed [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Gold_PickUp_Radius - Gold Pickup Radius [{VALUE}|+|]
    defense
    ParagonBonusLabel_Hitpoints_Percent - Life [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Resistance_All - Resist All [{VALUE}|+|]
    ParagonBonusLabel_Armor_Bonus_Percent - Armor [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%
    ParagonBonusLabel_Dodge_Chance_Bonus - Dodge [{VALUE}*100|2+|]%

So if there are no innate GF/ MF then are no GF/ MF at all in this current paragon system
