Lore, Mechanics and Beta Interview With Josh Mosqueira
An absolutely awesome video interview was conducted by PlayersCutTV with Josh Mosqueira. The summary may contain some HEAVY SPOILERS, so be careful with reading below!
  • Beta should begin this year!
  • The expansion will not be released at the same time for all platforms
  • There are more zones in the expansion than just Westmarch and Pandemonium Fortress
  • Hell is in a state of chaos without leaders
  • Crusaders come from the same order as Paladins
  • Crusaders can use two-handed swords
  • Malthael's actions are justifiable
  • Ultimately Malthael wants to destroy Sanctuary
  • We will be seeing the Archangels in the expansion as well as some of the Evils

Nephalem Trials Detailed in Interview
Athene managed to get ahold of Josh Mosqueira and Christian Lichtner at Gamescom and made a really sweet interview, in which the Nepahlem Trials feature was explored. Turns out the devs kind of simply forgot to mention it on stage. It is awesome though!
  • Nephalem Trials are portals located around the world
  • They are challenge-based trials
  • Monsters come in waves with increasing difficulty
  • Bigger efficiency - bigger rewards, in the forms of Resplendent chests
  • They are meant to be trials that the Nephalem made for each other to test their skills

Lylirra Tweets About the Expansion
Lylirra has made a lot of posts on Twitter giving small details and interesting glimpses from Reaper of Souls. Here are the more informative ones.

No immediate plans, but certainly not opposed. Definitely understand the desire. We'd probably look at adding 1 or 2, if anything. (Source)

are the points we spend for paragon permanent or can we "respec"?
Current plan to allow players to re-spec their Paragon Points. Feature is still under development though, so it might change! (Source)

Does Malthael's sickles have a name? Like Eldruin or Solarian...
Can't remember off-hand! Looping in @BrianKindregan for his expertise. :)
Not yet. Malthael's named artifact was Calad'ar, the Chalice of Wisdom. But he left that behind when he first disappeared.
Perhaps he has since named his sickles and we don't know it yet. ;)(Source)

it is stated that pragon levels will work retroactively, will it include all dead chars, dead chars not moved to archive or none?
Not sure, I can ask! Those details may not be finalized at the moment, though. (Just a heads up.)
So, just checked with Wyatt & that detail is still being fleshed out. We'll share more infoz as development continues.
Will still be separated by game type: Normal/Hardcore. That make sense? If not, let me know. I can explain further. (Source)

hey could u answer my question about ladder please?
We don't have any details to share about a ladder system right now. :) (Source)

hi. from the "Loot 2.0 - Diablo III: Reaper of Souls" i understood that Critical hit chance/damage is getting nerfed. am i correct?
We've not shared any info along those lines to my knowledge. Changes to affixes are still under development/not yet final. :) (Source)

Will the new classes just be able to roll into Act5 or will you need to start again as a separate char ? #D3RoS
If you'd like to play a Crusader in Act V, you'll need to level one up from scratch and play through Acts 1-4. (Source)

great news Lyli !! P500 people wont feel bad when they hear this :) P330 here, might get to 500 until RoS.
Feature is still being developed, so some details might change. Just stay tuned; we'll be sharing more info in the coming months!
Wyatt just updated me. Your shared Paragon level will be calculated by adding up Paragon EXP across all your heroes. (Source)
