Will there every be ladders in Diablo 3? Blizzard cannot either confirm nor deny. Meanwhile you can check what Jay Wilson had to say about ladders in an interview for Diablofans.

It is not an impossibility that we will get to see a ladder system in Diablo III in the future, but if we were ever to introduce this into the game, we would have to be very careful with the design as well as the implementation.

Remember when we were told PvP would be brought in by the end of the year? Well that's obviously not going to happen. If they aren't making it competitive why is it taking so long? If they are taking this long to introduce it surely they will make it more then the 3v3 death match that was initially what we were told it would be.

YES PVP BLOG SOON! Thats awesome! Also I don't know how ladder will work, because I'd hate to have to level up everything again or something especially in D3 with 160 levels takes a long while.

I hope there's some kind of smart match making, or ladder for PvP. For some reason, I just imagine getting my ass kicked over and over by people way more powerful than I. Looking forward to more details.

pvp will be rediculous ... im hoping for more options than 3v3 since they're longer to roll out! I would also settle for a HOTA beta key hah.

Ugh. I'm sick of them putting off any information on PvP whatsoever. Hopefully they'll come through, though. It's just getting easier to be pessimistic about it. I'd like them to at least care about it a little bit, because if they don't put effort into it, it will simply not be worth it.

A ladder system would be alright if it was implemented in a good way... More like WoW arena and less like SC2

I would love to know more about pvp and hoping to see a ladder system implemented to see how well/bad is my performance, is a good tracker for my self-evaluation.

The ladder discution again? Wasn't said b4 that they have no plans to implement it but doing so isnt impossible neither?

How come everyone is so pumped for the PVP blog? Maybe there is something I missed but can we really expect Blizzard to update the blog often? I mean we get so little news about Diablo 3 as it is not sure how a blog is going to change anything.

A ladder would be great, ranking sites in D3 and WoW are always 3rd party, would make more sense to have them by Blizz.

With the new PvP, I can only hope that not only are they bringing more to the table (more than 3v3, as previously stated) but NEW ideas with it. This game obviously isn't meant to be balanced around PvP, but I'd like to see more than just kill-ball, capture the flag, deathmatch, and what not. There are SO many better ideas that could be brought in, in terms of PvP ideas; Just look at some of the hero based WC3 addons, or SC2.

They are likely not going to do the ladder due to the ability of many people to use money to influence it. A ladder on characters with no access to the AH might be feasible though
