Scheduled Maintenance - December 11
Can't have a patch without a maintenance!

Important: Please note that you will not be prompted to download patch 1.0.6a until the patch is live in your home region. If you are logging in from a European or Asian client, you will need to wait for this patch to release in that region before it can be installed. Additionally, if your home region is the Americas, you will be unable to log into Europe or Asia using Global Play after patch 1.0.6a is live until those regions have also patched.

For reference, here are the scheduled maintenance times for each region:

The Americas: 1:00 a.m. PST to 11:00 a.m. PST
Asia: 12:00 p.m. PST to 2:00 p.m. PST
Europe: 8:00 p.m. PST to 10:00 p.m. PST

Still No Plans for Holiday Events
Blizzard have written about this before, but here's another mention of it.

D3 is not wow.
arpg versus mmorpg...
Very true, we have even stated this before ourselves, but that doesn't mean that there can't be any similarities between the games though... if they make sense that is ;-)

and how would you organize a xmas event in diablo? put a xmas tree in new tristram? kill diablo on xmas eve and get a free santa hat? come on vaneras, the game needs improvement, you know this as well as i do. not some stupid holiday event.
Please read the first post I made in this very thread
My other comment was merely a statement that games can share features even though they are not the same:-)

i know my friend, i was just being sarcastic;-) no pun or offence intended.
I will totally admit that I failed to pick up on the sarcasm, but I wasn't offended at all :-)

This particular maintenance is mostly addressing some fixes/upgrades to battle.net as far as I am aware... while patch 1.0.7 is on the way for sure, no date has been set for it yet. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Uber Bosses and NV Stacks
Buryit and mpsjr are correct: if you die while fighting one of the double bosses within a Realm of Evil, you are able to run back and take another crack at them, with the caveat that you should make sure your five stacks of Nephalem Valor are still active. The stacks need to last you all through the fight, because you'll need them whenever the final boss dies in order to have a chance at their coveted organ drop.

If you think the fight may run a little close, it's best to go and refresh your stack before starting the encounter. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
