EU RMAH Not Released
Though the RMAH is live in the US region, it looks like Blizzard will not be rolling it out for other regions just yet.

(The estimated target date will be updated in the game client with the next maintenance.) We are rolling out each region’s real-money auction house separately to ensure our players have the best possible experience.

We appreciate your patience as we take a measured approach with this deployment, and we’ll provide another update as soon as we have more information to share.

Enrage Timers
Blizzard has stated that removing enrage timers sometime in the future is a possibility.

However, it's not a change we'd be looking to make at the same time. We want to see how the drop changes work out in 1.0.3, see how all the other changes might effect it and each other, and then make a decision and see if it's something we can/want to do in a later patch.

More RMAH Chat
With the release of the RMAH in the US yesterday, a lot of users have been voicing their concerns with high prices.

I fully expect people have no idea how much their items are really worth and we'll see some pretty crazy prices, and some pretty crazy purchases for days or even weeks. Just my personal guess, though.

I understand that fully and thank you for showing interest in this, but my concern is more with how exclusive it will be to the player who cant sit around and farm all day to buy items on the RMAH.
Then just play the game. You don't need to buy items to play the game. You're going to gear up a lot faster if you buy items of course (RMAH or gold auction house), but it's not a requirement.

Sorry but the majority of the things I've seen are not worth $15 let alone $250, but I forgot you make 15% of whatever is sold, so no skin of your back eh?
You don't want us to control prices. I understand you want cheaper items, but you don't want us to step in and start trying to limit the market. Wait a couple weeks, things will calm down, the dollar signs will fade from peoples irises, and I'm betting you'll see some far more realistic pricing.

Can a player who doesn't use the RMAH stay competitive in PvP?
Considering the matchmaker will put you up against similar opponents, and there is no leaderboard, yes, you will be as competitive as you want to be.

You care enough to cap the RMAH but not the GAH? Right, come back after you've capped the GAH at a not too high, but reasonable amount to prevent both deflation (RMAH) and inflation (GAH) and I'll believe you.
Until then it's the equivalant of vaporware as far as we're concerned.

I don't understand what you mean. I think you're using that word wrong, though.

The upper limit for the RMAH exists because there's a very real and legal limit of real currency we can hold on a Battle.net Balance, and the limit is to try to keep that limit from being hit easily.

I'm sorry but you people don't seem to have any clue what you're talking about whatsoever. Saying OH THE PRICE IS GOING TO DROP JUST WAIT.

How do you figure the price is going to drop? A 1200 dps 1h on the GOLD AUCTION HOUSE costs millions of gold. Millions of gold takes many many hours to farm. Do you think someone is going to farm millions of gold for hours for something that they can buy on the AH for a few dollars???? If a 1200 dps 1h costs $30 that is still too much, that's half the price of the whole game. If it costs 5 dollars, why would ANYBODY go farm 20 million gold for a week when they can spend a quarter of what they make in an hour on said weapon? Prices on the gold AH will have to drop dramatically or it will break.

Either it breaks the Gold AH, Gold AH prices plummet, or prices stay high. Those are the only options.

Yeah. I dunno. That's discounting that real world currency has real world applications. With in-game gold you essentially have one thing you can do with it, and that's all contained within Diablo III. With a dollar (or $30) I can go do any number of things outside of the game. You can attempt to all essentially come to an agreement as to the value of the virtual currency, the exchange rate, but paying $200 for a sword in a game is far more limiting than any of the other things you can go do with $200. That basic fact reduces the value of gold (and items) below the time investment versus a paycheck (not to mention you're playing a video game and not working), or should, if people are smart about their purchases.

I would personally suspect prices to settle out quite a bit, but it really depends on demand and what people are willing to pay. So, yeah, it's really up to everyone playing what the prices end up being. We'll see.

You act like people will be like "Oh, I can buy an Ice Cream Cone with this, maybe I shouldn't spend it on this weapon." Yea right.
Yes. Right.

You say prices will settle out like that will alleviate the problem. You are skating around the issue and that is people will become almost forced to use the RMAH to get decent upgrades in a timely fashion. The other option will be farm 20mil gold to get a weapon out of the GAH, or the GAH prices will go way down. How can you argue with this?
I try not to argue with conjecture. Personally I don't think I wouldn't be super surprised if the best items in the game moved exclusively to the RMAH. I'd suspect not all would, there'd still be some on the gold auction house, but sure, there's a reasonable expectation that all the best items could move to the RMAH. It makes some sense, why sell an item for gold when you could stand to make some money?

I don't know, though. Clearly there's some item drop balance issues, which we're addressing in 1.0.3 that should help you progress a bit better just with your own drops. If that's all you want to do I don't think you need to touch either AH. You can gear faster by using them of course, but that's your choice and one each person will need to make for themselves.

The difference between what you're saying about people spending money elsewhere and what's going on here is that's like having a car enthusiast at a car show, seeing their favorite part that they've been wanting for a long time, and expecting them not to spend money on it because they want to get a pizza after the show. Ridiculous and you know it.
I...

You've rendered me speechless.

There's no date set, but right now we're looking at releasing character profiles around the end of this month/beginning of next month. That time frame isn't set in stone, though. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Banners/Achievements
First off, I feel there should be an Achievements Forum since General Posts get dropped to page 3 after you click post and I think there is enough interest in Achievements from people to warrant its own Forum Page.
Good feedback. We'll definitely the consider it.

Secondly, why were HC achievements adding to the "bling" of the base of the banner removed?
It was an awesome idea in concept, but just didn't work out well in execution. We found that, while the base accents looked really cool in some places like the character screen and other menus, they were extremely difficult to see while you were actually in game -- which kind of defeated the point. We're going to be looking at additional ways for players to customize their banners and show off their accomplishments (ideally in ways that are visible while playing).

Lastly, because I don't want to create another thread and various threads on the subject have gotten vague "in a couple weeks" type responses, what's the ETA on the exclusive sigils being added to our accounts 1.03?

Unfortunately, I don't have any updates to share right now. I'll see if there's any further information I can glean today for you, though.(Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

RMAH
If you really believe that's too high a price, Duane, you should absolutely not pay it. The market's going to be driven by demand -- not to sound like an economic scholar or anything :P -- and it'll probably be pretty unpredictable for a little while in the early stages of the RMAH release. But we really shouldn't be in the business of dictating what prices should be for things.

Your point about auction house clutter, however, is duly noted. I think a lot of that has more to do with our need to make some additional improvements to the auction house UI and search functionality.

Aren't you dictating the prices by imposing a 250$ limit in the first place?
That has more to do with legalities and the limits of real currency that can reasonably be held as a Battle.net Balance on your account. We'd still prefer not to micromanage demand.

Go to bed Zarhym, you have to be up early to nerf Soul Rippers. :-)
el oh... I forgot the rest.

I angrily fought them off while laughing maniacally last night, just after commiserating with you all on the forums. ;)

Bill Hicks would be rolling in his grave
Don't you ever throw Hicks at me and purport to interpret his post-mortem thoughts on any subject matter. I've studied more than my fair share of the man. ;) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

More RMAH
What does that have to do with me? I work and pay all my bills; then I try my luck at the RGN. It's what the game was about. "You don't have to use the RMAH
Well it's true, you don't have to ...

HURHUWEHUER" Shut UP. Why are you 15 year olds posting such nonsense?
... :( but... I'm 30.

You really don't have to use the AH. You can play based on what you find. Also, not always a popular option if you really just hate the concept of the RMAH, but putting stuff up for sale does not cost anything. It's a risk free way to potentially build up some Battle.net Balance which you can then put toward other item purchases. It's possible to never have to buy in to the system and still be able to buy and trade using the RMAH. Of course someone has to buy in, so you're really just hoping it's everyone but you.

I personally suspect plenty of people will stick to the gold auction house on a longer timeline (the RMAH allure is strong right now), and overall you can still play the game and gear up without ever looking at the AH. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Banned after RMAH
I've fired off an email with a bunch of info from this and other threads and we'll be looking into it. In the meantime I would recommend submitting a support ticket. Regardless of what our investigation turns up your best and fastest bet to a resolution is speaking with our customer service department who can speak with you privately about your account.

http://us.battle.net/support/en/

It might also help to list under what conditions your purchase occurred (cost, type of payment used, authenticator use, account region, anything you can think of that might be relevant). Obviously many purchases aren't resulting in an account lock, so it might help us to determine the common thread. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Jay Wilson
He was actually active in the email thread we had going about it, and the main proponent for disabling it until we can take a better look at it. He's the game director, an easy target, but it's really unfair to claim he doesn't care.

ME on the other hand... pshhh... I prefer WoW. ;) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Max Schaeffer
<3 Max. I had the privilege of showing off Diablo III at PAXEast next to Max who was of course showing off Torchlight 2. I spent most of the time trying to not to geek out (and kicking myself for not thinking to bring my unopened D2 CE for him to sign), and he was just extremely humble and a pleasure to talk to. I couldn't wish any more for his, Runic's, and Torchlight 2's success with their launch, and I know they'll have it.

Never mind. I don't want to be tied to this disappointing conversation any more than I am. You make me sad. We're playing video games for crying out loud. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Activision Kills Blizzard
We're Blizzard Entertainment. We're the development studio that designed this game and its business model. If you have any issues or concerns about how we make games, take them up with us in a civil, reasoned manner. Claiming some larger corporate entity is to blame without any tangible evidence just isn't constructive and has no merit.

These forums are here so we have a great resource for collecting player feedback and, when necessary, relaying design insight and important information back to the community. I hope you see why choosing to fabricate a narrative that explains any frustration you might be having with this game not only doesn't help us, but is counter productive for you too.

P.S. Please don't post thread titles in all caps. I've edited that for you. :)

Clearly you don't actually play the game.
Clearly! No one could enjoy a game you don't! Have some perspective.

Okay Bashiok, I will sum it up for you: You guys sold out. You stopped making games for gamers, and started making "games" for money. Bobby Kotick is the devil and Diablo 3 sucks. There, I said it.
Wow. But to be fair, I'm not going to believe anyone who calls me Bashiok. :P

How do you guys not freak out on these types of posters? Be honest, Bliz pumps something through the air vents to keep you guys relaxed, right?
No, I'm just going through the Lamaze technique. :P

No, I'm just going through the Lamaze technique. :P
I've been meaning to compliment you on your new desk stirrups.

Here's some feedback, bro. Input level reached. We need to farm. Diablo without farming is just a terrible game. GG. Does this involve you? Does this have merit? Destroying your company's name is important. Blizzard is not on my auto buy list anymore. Does this have merit?!
If you want an answer to your real question, we've passed along plenty of feedback about the game creation limit to the appropriate people. The fact that it's an inconvenience for you doesn't negate what's said here:

http://us.battle.net...opic/5795159597

There's no possible way you collect player feedback and design insight.
The fact that you're posting here means that you've waded through hundreds of topics decrying all these "fixes" and nerfs. If you guys are seeing the reactions of the player base as anything other than negative, I can't even begin to formulate a response that I'd think would convey how much you guys ignore player feedback.

I know you have to do your song and dance PR routine, but please don't BS us. You guys DON'T listen to feedback, and all the great insight and criticisms posted here DON'T get passed on to anyone. It's way, way too obvious.

I'm not going to convince you of anything you refuse to take at face value. But the work my department (the community team) does isn't completely negated by your perception of the way we operate.

To even think all the player feedback worth noting is on these forums AND negative is shortsighted in and of itself. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Authenticators
The only difference between the physical authenticators is the graphic printed on the front. They all work for all of our games. (Link) (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

1.0.3 Not Far Off
It has been commented on before. http://us.battle.net...27399?page=5#87

As an update to that though, yes it's currently slated to be fixed in 1.0.3 which isn't too far off now (fingers crossed, knock on wood, etc. etc.). (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Ninja Hotfixes?
Sharpshooter is currently resetting not only after teleporting, but also when moving around items in your inventory. This is a bug (not an intended change).

they nerfed evasive fire.....now it shoots in a straight line, not a cone
Evasive Fire has a rune that makes it fire in a cone (Covering Fire). It also has a small, narrow range that it searches when fired, but it's an extremely narrow range. For the most part, though, the default skill and most of the rune variants are, and always has been, a straight line.

This is how it's worked since the game launched, and we haven't made any changes to this skill or its skill runes that would affect how it shoots.

Input limit reached and limit to game creation is still occurring. Unbelievable.

This should not be occurring (see this post). Can you please provide more information?

I love the answers without actually answering anything. If evasive fire did NOT change, say so. Your answer is so vague. "for the ...most part.... it has always been a straight line" wtf is that?

It's a clear answer.

But, for additional clarity: no changes have been made to Evasive Fire since patch 1.0.2 was released.

you do think we are stupid dont you?
No, but I think comments like these only serve to hinder communication rather than promote it. (But, hey, that's just me.)
What's up? Are you experiencing an issue? If so, with what? You're not giving me much to work with here. =/

THis is still worded weird... so SINCE the patch came out it hasnt changed? So this can be read as it was changed in 1.0.2 but not after... your so dumb

Even further clarity (since I can understand partly when there might be some confusion):

- Evasive Fire shoots in a straight line.
- It has worked this way since the game launched.
- Covering Fire will make Evasive Fire shoot in a cone.
- We have not made any changes to Evasive Fire or its skill runes that would change this.

If you, or other players, are experiencing something different when using Evasive Fire, then we may need to look into it as a possible bug.

i'm glad this is not intended as it's very annoying...but do you plan to fix it? and i mean this week and not in the end of the month on 1.0.3 lol

We absolutely want to fix this. We may be able to fix it as quickly as patch 1.0.3, but that may change depending on how difficult it is to solve and/or test.

Step 1: Create a game.
Step 2: Leave game.
Step 3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 until you recieve the error. Should take approx 2-3 minutes.
Or you could simply read the countless other threads with all of the info with this error since yesterday.

We disabled the game creation limit last night, so if you or any other player is still seeing the "Input Limit Reached" message, then something is wrong and we'll need to look into it.

This is why I was asking for more information. So we could look into it.

Just as a heads up (and to be as transparent as possible), I made some edits to my first post in this thread to help clear up some confusion. The "Next Blizz Post" function is broken right now -- don't worry, we're fixing it! -- and I don't want my follow-up points to be missed.

I don't need to know the actual drop rate (despite that being the basis). Just want a "yes the drop rates were decreased" or a "no, we didn't touch the drop rates"

Don't know off-hand, but I'll be happy to ask.

Is that how it breaks? When blue posters edit their posts? Ive noticed this in other topics and wondered why it was acting that way and not linking me to the next post.
Nah. The feature itself is bit temperamental and will sometimes just...stop working. :(

Our web team is already aware, though, and working to get it fixed.

Any word on this? Not sure what the turnaround time is like (no idea how your work setting is).

Not yet. I hope to be able to share a response by the end of the day.

Lylirra, any comment on drop rates?
I just spoke with QA and our designers and they've confirmed that no recent changes have been made to drop rates (especially not yesterday).

If players are really concerned, though, and have tangible evidence of some of kind of specific issue with item drop rates, they're welcome to report their experiences in the Bug Report forum. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

Max Limit on RMAH
How is an upper limit price gouging? :|

Anyway, there's a limit because we can only allow a certain amount of Battle.net Balance to be held before we run into some pretty crazy legal requirements. The upper limit is intended to try to keep that cap from being hit. We can and likely will raise it though at some point. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)

RMAH and Paypal Setup

This is an issue we're looking to address. In the meantime, if you'd like to set up a PayPal account for use on the real-money auction house (which will also include setting up Battle.net SMS Protect), you can start that process here:https://us.battle.ne...se/landing.html

There's also some additional information about setting up Battle.net Balance and PayPal here. (Blue Tracker / Official Forums)
