Real Money Auction House is Live
The RMAH Is now live on US servers. You can click the currency button at the top right to switch to it. The auction house has a lot of users on it at this time so it may be hard to access. Note, attempting to sell gold will result in an error for now.

Auction House: Issues and Information
Now is a good time to take a look at this list. You will be seeing the "Grayed-Out Auction House Button" most likely when you first sign on.

To help reduce load and improve the overall stability of the auction house system, the game may temporarily limit traffic to the auction house during peak gaming hours. This is done automatically, and players may occasionally see a grayed-out auction house button as a result.

If the auction house button is grayed-out, please wait a few minutes and then try again. Alternatively, you may wish to enter a game and then leave, or log out and log back in to try again.

Missing" Auction Items
We're continuing to investigate latency affecting search results, active auction lists, posting auctions, and successful sales and purchases on the gold auction house, and hope to have all transactions running smoothly as soon as possible. Please note that while these issues may cause a temporary delay in having purchased items appear in your Completed tab, your items have not been lost. If you do not see your purchased items immediately, please wait and try again later. This also applies if you are experiencing difficulty transferring gold from your Completed tab to your character's stash. Though your sales and purchases may not appear in your auction log, those transactions have still been recorded and should process within 24 hours.

Auction House Error 31073
Players will sometimes receive "Error 31073" when attempting a transaction on the auction house. This is an intentional measure to help improve auction house stability by throttling the number of auctions that can be created at any given time. If you receive this error message when attempting a transaction you should wait a few moments and try again. While we understand this is an inconvenience, our goal is to ensure a more stable auction house experience for everyone.

there are items which are sold for over 700€ (1190$) at ebay. wouldnt hope "too" much, top notch items will remain unbelievable expensive, mediocre items will probably become pretty cheap (20-50€, which are 34-85$).

Having a financial background makes these kind of things interesting, considering this a first go for this type of thing! If people want to sell mediocre items for $40+ I'm not sure how anything will sell in the long term.

Fast everyone, go sell your stuff for hundreds of dollars.

So who believed that RMAH was going to make prices drop again? :)

Good thing this game was never really competive however for i'm less inclined to play diablo 3 now with this coming up, while it first i though to be indifferent, considering how this will effect gold AH prices aswel if some big gold sellers branches jump on this they could pretty much start artificially controlling prices to keep the gold to real life currency ratio as high as possible.

What generally screws over gold AH prices, even if we exclude the theory of gold sellers investing in that market and the RMAH becomes very populair to the most populair method you won't be getting any upgrades at reasonable prices.

I know some stuff will be sold at the "black market" and never show themselves at the AH. I know how things was with D2.
And if there is a limit (and it is already) then ppl will have a black market.
But I'm sure Blizzard will increase the cap when they notice way to many good stuff will be traded outside the AH. They can probably easy search all trades and limit it to ppl that only been friends for X amount of hours/days/weeks etc.
And the items you're linking, pretty sure that Blizzard can just track them with the exact same stats and find out how they got it and BAM.....banned, or item lost and limited 3 days ban.

The reason they have a RMAH according to themselves is security, so ppl won't get scammed and that it's a growing demand within gaming. But if you ask me, they have it to earn money on the game (doh!).
And if they notice to many items never make it to the RMAH, they will make changes, and they will for sure ban ppl that use "third party markets".

Seeing how there is serious lack of content in D3 makes me wonder, and here I also ask people here.
Who would buy items off RMAH? And would you?

Would only buy items from the cash I'd receive from it, just as another currency AH not really as RMAH.
As I am banned @ PP and won't be able to cash out, I'd just trade the currencies I receive for more loot, wouldn't "cash in" my "real money".
Game isn't anything near D2, speaking from a longterm point of view, leveling content is done when you hit the "endgame", you have seen everything, gear is rng like shit (seriously, level 48 blue pants in act 4 inferno from a rare group with 5 NV and 150 MF from gear?).
the whole game is built around the AH, the game is a feature - not the AH (shit RNG lowrates, "onehit"-mechanics, lack of gear upgrades without excessive grinding). Thats the major problem & blizzard fucked up a LOT things at the beginning and keeps doing it, I am a bit disappointed in Blizzard as a company I used to "respect" as a game designer/releaser w/e you call it (my first game was lost vikings, so I can call myself a longtime customer I think). They just lost a lot of reputation with the game release a lot of unfinished business and designing the game as a grindparty around a possibility to spend money to grind faster - basicly its nothing more. there is no ladder, no competition, just grinding the whole day - you have seen everything, you grind to grind faster/easier, thats it.
Enough complaining for now, hope they'll push a fast contentpatch and keep adding new stuff (a ladder season would be nice).

    And gaming has fallen.

The prices are ridiculous. 1000dps hammer with 24% atk spd and 400 life on hit. Yeah its a great weapon... is it worth 180$? No.
  • #20 dro0x
They really could do themselves and us a favor by replacing their cryptic error codes with a human readable message instead of explaining them on the forums.
