Hardcore and Inferno
We have been told Inferno will be hard, but it looks like there will be no mercy for hardcore players!

RMAH Info Coming Very Soon
There are a lot of questions still floating around about the RMAH. It looks like we should be getting some solid info 'very' soon.

Custom PvP Matches and Balance.
Bashiok took the time to give some more information on the PvP system.

We're open to the idea of custom PvP matches, which would allow for duels in the arenas. There are a lot of decisions before we can get there, but on the design philosophy front we don't have anything against practice duels or other custom matches (1v4?), as long as they can't be used for progression. It'll just come down to implementation and what we're able to pull off in a timely manner.
While we're talking about PvP it's probably worth reminding everyone that what we're targeting is a very loose and 'for fun' system. Imagine clicking a button, being matched up against another team of equal skill and gear, and win or lose you move forward (although faster if you win) on a personal progression system that gives you some cosmetic recognition as you go. There won't be ladders or leagues, we have no intent to expose team ratings, and very likely nothing besides a win/loss record to track performance etc. etc. etc. Anyone who has tried it at BlizzCon knows the PvP in Diablo III is a blast, but I've seen some people start to get ideas that it's going to be an eSport, and that's just not something we're targeting - for the sake of our goals in the single player/co-op experience.
It's one reason custom matches can make some people nervous, because it means players can start setting up their own games in attempts to create a more competitive system. Or just complaining their 1v1 duels aren't balanced. When that happens people start demanding the sacrifice of PvE, "I need more mobility/stuns/dps", separate systems with different abilities, and on and on. I think if there were one good argument against duels and custom games, it would be the players themselves.
uhh I still don't get it. If you balance PvP and PvE separately, this issue of one's balance affecting the other would never occur.
Aside from some very basic user experience issues it would cause, and which we vehemently oppose, asking us to design, balance, and maintain two separate games just isn't reasonable.
So my next question would be, why is it going to take so long to implement if it isn't supposed to be something so central to the core mechanics of the game?
How do you know how long it's going to take? Jay says it'll be this year and everyone assumes that means December?
No offense Bash, but you guys ARE Blizzard =)
You should be astounded that people actually believe that it will be "this year" when you guys said this year. hehe
Fair enough...
My concern is the strict queuing of players with similar gear and skill in arena. (Long Quote)
In a balanced system (and if we're matching you correctly) you'd win 50% of the time, and lose 50% of the time. It absolutely feels awesome to win, but for someone to win someone else has to lose. The 'fun' comes from being matched fairly and overcoming a challenge. Yes some fun can come from just being totally overpowered and dominating, but for most people that gets old and they'll just stop playing if there's no challenge.

Any reason why no Gold announcement? Is that just how it is with PC digital releases?
Do people still do gold announcements? With day-one patches it's kind of irrelevant, y'know? (Source)
No Duels Before PvP Patch
plz give us at least 1v1 option for pvp if no duels or free-for-all mode when pvp hits.
I meant no plans for duels before the PvP patch. It'll depend on if we can get custom matches implemented then. (Source)

omg share photo!
haha ya already found it, thanks!
You spelled Source wrong. Just letting you know
Exactly! Separate the systems and both sides don't face the issues with the other side. When Blizzard gets past the imaginary hurdle of lack of human intelligence capable of understand different tooltips between the two they can have two amazing games in one.
That is so not true. The spells would effectively work the same way, they would just have different durations, cast times, damage...just tweaking numbers not the full mechanics. It would not be a "whole new class". It's this form of exaggeration that is keeping the balance element between PvE and PvP in the gaming stone ages.
Using the WoW case, it was not hard to get used to the fact that certain spells were disabled in PvP (old Curse of Doom is one example) or worked very differently (old Exorcism). It worked fine, people got used to it almost immediately. EVERYONE but the same people who are already terrible at any level of PvE and no amount of handholding could save them are the only people who couldn't figure it out. Blizzard paved the way SUCCESSFULLY in the past and they're just too piss afraid for no good reason to keep moving along with no evidence to back them up.
It's not much of spoiler to talk about the teaser version of the TV commercial and compare notes about it or whatnot. You could've reasonably foreseen this and so choose to skip viewing the comments.
My friend and I are excited about that :| Actually having a huge upper cap for challenge, there's always something to strive for! Now we can actually focus on "beating in inferno" in HC as a solid goal.
Eh, already been mentioned, but not quite in such detail.
I downloaded the video so I could look at it frame by frame in certain areas.
That's pretty much the gist of it. Once the full version is on YouTube, I'll do the same for it what I did earlier. Knowing my luck, I'm betting I will get beaten to it.
Edit: Well, color me blue. Turned out to be the actual TV spot. *sigh*
Insert image of Barney Stinson.
2) Imperius (being pushed back) - 3MB
3) Hand of Diablo (singular claw sticking out, as in Wolverine) - 3MB
4) Diamond Gates (the sphere being destroyed) - 3MB
5) Diablo (fire, fire....) - 11MB
6) Tyrael (grabbing and thrusting Solarion onto Imperius himself?) - 4MB
Since the files are too large, I've put them on my Mediafire account. You can download them individually as per your wish.

I'll continue the spoiler just in case people don't wanna know but its kind of an obvious thing to talk about.
I don't think its Diablo's fist. I'm almost certain that is Mephisto's fist. Small correction but still very meaningful I think, so we can expect to see all the prime evils returning perhaps?
