Servers Go Live At 00:01 CEST for the European Region
This is rather big news! There's also some good info for other midnight launch events around the EU. Though this blog post has had its time changed twice, it looks like this is the final time!

Each event will have its own activities, giveaways, and contests, so see the press release for further details and be sure to check the launch event site for more info on the one nearest you.
Whether you’re attending a launch event, grabbing the game at a local store, or waiting patiently at home for your digital version to unlock, you’ll want to be ready to jump in right when the servers open. For the European region, the game servers will go live at 00:01 CEST on May 15. As a reminder to our Russian players, the Russian-language version of the game will be available digitally and at retail starting June 7.
Don’t forget to create your BattleTag — it's important to do so now if you haven't already, as it’s REQUIRED TO PLAY DIABLO III. Also note that if you’d like to receive a digital copy of Diablo III free, there are still a few days left to sign up for the World of Warcraft Annual Pass.
We hope to see you at one of our Diablo III launch events and we look forward to seeing you in-game on May 15!

I was hoping for a PDT-based release myself. The U.S.A. basically runs on Eastern time and, admittedly a bit uncharitable, I thought it would be great to be able to stick it to our east coast cousins.
Congrats to Europe, though.
Edit: Ok, it specifically says US servers will go up at midnight Pacific time. So those of us on the west coast will kind of get to go "pbbbbbbbbt" in the east coast's face. Just won't have quite the same effect as getting first dibs on the game. =P
That's a bit harsh. Not everybody is like that.
Who developed the game?
Woot guys what a kick ass turnout at Best Buy. Got my company of D3 Collectors lets go home and play this after 10+ years of waiting!
Sorry please try again in 3 hours.
Facepalm.
Blizzard/EA Ruining Lan Parties since Timezones
I am in the same boat as you and there will definitely be power naps between getting back from picking up my CE/Install and the 3am release. Then you play until you fall asleep on the keyboard!!!
By the way, that was awesome.
What if they've been waiting just as long? Does that make us more entitled, all things equal, solely on the principle that we are American? Sounds like some straight Nazi logic to me.
On topic; sucks that midnight release doesn't actually mean midnight for anyone except those in pst.
If so, that's awesome as my week of leave starts on the 15th, and will allow me to get some stuff done during the day, ready for an epic night starting at 5:01pm!
Official Blizzard Quote:
We can confirm the timings for server unlock on the 15th May are:
New Zealand Standard Time: 7:00 PM
Australian Eastern Standard Time: 5:00 PM
Australian Central Standard Time: 4:30 PM
Australian Western Standard Time: 3:00 PM
So settle into a chair at the Slaughtered Calf Inn, pour a mug of mead and sharpen your axe for the battles to come!
So much for taking the 15th off work and playing it all day. Better let the boss know I'll be in... and in a foul mood.
The actual game better be available for purchase before then, you know.... since all the shops ******** close at 5pm!
I agree they should make it on the 16th for you guys like it always is and should be So more hours of delay!
