D2 Ladder Reset: Season 9

Bashiok informed us not that long ago, it was about due time for another DiabloWiki.com - Diablo II

Diablo II Ladder reset, but that had "things to figure out."

Official Blizzard Quote:

We're holding off on a reset to figure out some things. We'll let you know as soon as we do.

It seems as if whatever Blizzard had to figure out has just been figured and a ladder reset has been announced for October 25th, making this the 9th Ladder Season. Nothing else (patch?) was announced with the Ladder reset, so exactly what it is they were doing has gone completely unknown, though I am sure we'll find out soon enough.

Official Blizzard Quote:

We will be resetting the Diablo II ladder the morning of October 25.

We anticipate all Diablo II realms to be down for approximately six hours during the reset. More specific information on realm availability on the day of the reset will be posted in the Battle.net Status forum. When the ladder is reset all existing ladder characters will be converted to non-ladder. All characters and items being converted to non-ladder will remain intact, but once converted these characters will no longer have access to ladder content such as creating ladder-only rune words. For more information on ladder characters please visit the Arreat Summit Realm Character Types page.

If you're looking for some class builds, i'd recommend using Magistrate's Firebolt utility, which indexes guides simply for you.

I bet their decision is related to Diablo 3 release date. They wanted to make sure there is enough time for a new ladder before the new release. Assuming a March release, that leaves about 5 months for this ladder season. Starting a new ladder season will help people stay focused on Diablo a little more (many have gone back to D2) while they wait out the delay.

Lol, i'm honestly very disappointed I was hoping they wouldn't reset it so I could actually do a push for lvl 99, but alas It won't happen. Going from 98 - 99 in D2 nowdays is just freaking crazy if you do it like me...

100% legit, no hacks / bots or w/e

I am very curious as to why it was delayed perhaps we'll know at blizzcon or something...

Maybe what Diablo II needs is a "captcha" before you enter a game. This way you can't bot.

Honestly all games should start implementing that Djones171, I am sure it would help a lot to filter out the non-humans, at least it would help some.

BTW Magistrate I love the series as well. It's just after 10 years, I just can't play Diablo 2 anymore. I'm rather burnt out on it. It was my favourite game for a long long time though.

been up all week pushing as many house as possible to make the list or runewords my non ladder chars were needing.. just gathered the last merc fort, to a night being completed.. cant wait to see what i awake to : )

if your doing a summon necro i shall mention a few points that will be extremely tricky later in the game..

1. Andariel, once your skellys are dead (witch happens fast) there is no bodies to revive
2. Baal, again you have no bodies to revice

when i made a necro i did a hybrid type style, worked great up through nightmare. hell i had to be on top of my game. but i went with maxing skelly mastery, and only adding 3 skill points into skelly revive and skelly mages. i had 6 skellys (without gear) witch was plenty to keep monsters occupied and a Act 2 Defense merc (for defiance aura)just to boost all of our defense up a bit. then i went with the poison nova for my main attack. so i hit the monsters with (amplify damage) and then i hit them with (poison nova) while my (skellys & merc) chop them up. it works really good now that i have upgraded my gear. (merc having infinity is a huge difference) [my merc uses, infinity, eth fort, and gaze.. he can kill any monster in hell on his own and doesn't lose hp, he regenerates it fast.

i hope this could be some help to u, as for your first character when ladder is beginning i wouldnt recommend it.. there isnt as much help in the start as you will need
