DiabloFans now has an unofficial iPhone App, Diablo III Armory. It's not exactly made solely by us DiabloFans (but it is made by a good friend of ours), and it's pulling our news stream, so you can get DiabloFans news from just about anywhere now! In addition to our news feed, the App offers the following:
- News feed from diablofans.com
- Game information page (FAQ)
- Classes page to showcase each class and their skills.
- A skill calculator built completely for the iPhone platform.
- Easy swiping while viewing skills to see rune effects.
- Calculator can save/name builds, load them later, and even print out a Bnet URL of your build (in case you want to share it).
- And more to come, ;).
The app is completely free as well, so go download it and enjoy Sanctuary from anywhere on Earth! Those of you with Android devices (I only have an Android :() will have to wait for an app. Whether or not we develop an Android app as well is solely based on the success of the iPhone app. For more screenshots of the app, you can check the temporary support site, or watch the video below.

Posted Oct 5, 2011As far as the app: Awesome but the ad sometimes flips to top and covers some of the UI. Also it's dangerously close to the X when it's at the top which makes it really difficult to casually hit the X w/o having Safari pop up.
Do you guys really need ads to support this? There are plenty of free apps that have no ads. If you're really fans you wouldn't be trying to make a profit off this.

It does cost money to keep it on the store... more than websites generally cost (and I'm sure all these diablo fan sites aren't making money because they're made by pure fans right? Oh wait...)
Yeah of course I'm not 100% happy having ads in there it made it a lot uglier when we put em in... but Apple doesn't approve of donations unless you're a legal charitable company OR we use in-app purchase to sell some digital good. We may explore things in the future...
As for your other comments they are quite true and I have moved the X button down in the coming update. When the ad flips to the top it's not actually covering UI, because the bar there is disabled. If you turn off your 3g/wifi you'll see with no ads there's nothing there really. And yes it's a much nicer time making an iOS app than an android one.
To progammer: Lol well onetwosixen has a better flow numerically. You'll see in other places in the app and in posts Sixen is first usually. Just a side note...

Posted Oct 11, 2011Also, I'd find it convenient to combine all saved skill calculator files (and of course subtitled with which hero it's saved for). And on top of that, if a skill page is saved or loaded, could it be highlighted in the saved files list while we're viewing the file.
