Very early this morning, Blizzard made a post from Mike Morhaime explaining that the D3 release date was going to be moved into "early 2012." We have a very simple question for you all, what do you think about this changing, after the amount of times they reiterated they were aiming for a 2011 release?
- Glad they're taking their time.
- Excited to have a longer Beta.
- Sucks having to wait.
- Release buggy, patch later (Microsoft!).
- Don't really care.
In our previous poll, we wanted to know what you thought about Paypal being Blizzard's cash distributor for the Auction House. I think you guys made it pretty clear that you expected this to happen, with 55% of the votes coming in on that choice.
With the Closed Beta officially beginning, we have plenty to talk about, as well as the item database going up on the D3 site, and a ton of class changes. If you missed the twenty-sixth episode, you can check it out here. Otherwise, the twenty-seventh episode covered the following topics:
- Closed Beta Begins
- Make The Most Of Your Beta
- Change, It's Only Natural
- Diablo 3 Has Officially Been Pushed Back
If you've missed any previous episodes, check the archive on our Wiki!
This could mean a q4 release in 2012 since they have no hard deadline to really meet now, they've already lost the money they would have made in the meantime plus christmas sales (unless they get craft and do some fancy xmas preorder package).
Of course people in beta don't seem to have a problem with waiting. Well, i'll just say... it's easy to wait for dinner when you've already had a little snack.
It just not adding up - they have had months of internal testing and coupling that with such a limited amount of content for the beta - what are they testing and trying to fix?
It just doesn't add up. And when you casually think about how many subscriptions they are losing from WoW - because of D3's iminent release AND the new patch that is to make WoW appealing again for players who left....I smell strategic holding of what players want, to try and salvage what they have lost.
I (no joke) blame WoW and the Power That Be at Blizz for delaying because of this. Again - tell me some facts about the D3 process thus far that adds up to "we need more time to polish the game."
Sorry rant Over lol
They do, however, treat their fans and, oh yeah, customers, like total shit way too much though. Do we get an explanation? No, it's always just "it'll be ready when it's ready". I like that they know they can do wtf they want because we'll still buy it. Must be nice. Good business model too.
