I want to apologize for the downtime we've experienced over the last few days, Curse had some major hardware failures, and I can assure you that will never happen again. If you want to read further about the issue, Curse released a statement going more in depth on the downtime. However, we're back in the swing of things with this weeks DiabloCast. This time around we talk about the recent invitations to the Diablo 3 Press Event and what that could potentially mean for Beta and the live release. Ok - So if the game release depends on us finding flaws in the game ... lets hush up unless it's something BIG. That way we get the game ASAP and then let them fix the game through hot-fixes
The current test/build they got going in alpha, so by inviting you to a "world 1st" of the beta, the beta is ready. -Unless they don't take it THAT literally
And if the beta is ready come august 1st, why sit on it? Then they would have the build they wanted tested ready and should they then just... wait? Just to make it more challenging for themselves to release in 2011?
That's my logic at least.
If I remember right, haven't they already been doing internal testing of the beta? If the beta has already started to be tested internally, why sit on it? Just because it's ready to go, doesn't mean they'll release it to the public. I would bet within 10 days of the August 1st (assumed) release of the rest of the unknown systems, we'll see it finally pop out to the first wave of public testers.
Either way, it is exciting news. In roughly a month we'll be getting so much info the podcast will have to be 2 hours long!
Blizz is waiting because it will be a massive amount of info. With a controlled release along with press and fansites they can prevent confusion and get everything right (information wise), the beta won't be a typical 6 months because it has been testing for a while internally; and its not the whole game, its the first act and maybe the second. I said a few months ago this baby was gonna pop close to Christmas and is a definite possibility. <SIDENOTE> I realized how addicted i was to reading this forum because i checked to see if the site was up 4 times a day! Thankful its all up

I really do hope they release some news before the end of July, otherwise the only thing I'll be interested in is SWTOR (darthhater.com) for the whole month.

Oh yeah, me too. I really have this strong feeling that this game is gonna be really, really HUGE. And by huge, I mean the amount of quality and details and perfectionism that went into the making of this game, and the possibilities, the fun and replayability of it.
God damn, the next few weeks / months are gonna be hella exiting.
It's too bad that so far we really don't know much new about what's going to be in the beta, or any new systems.. or even really what they will let you see and film or talk about.
All the same, it's great the site is back and I'm really looking forward to the new from the beta. Hopefully people will even get it in their own hands not too long after your visit.
